[Cyrene Cosplay] That touch of pink in Honkai: Star Rail, a gorgeous skirt hem under night view

From receiving this costume to finally putting it on, there were actually quite a few twists and turns. The white outer skirt fabric wrinkles very easily, so every time before wearing it, I had to spend half an hour carefully ironing it smooth with a garment steamer. Added with that huge multi-layered skirt structure, I had to constantly watch my step when walking. But when I stood beside the stone railing at night and the wind blew up the skirt, I felt all the previous preparations were completely worth it. The photographer's lighting was crucial; direct flash combined with the pitch-black background brought out the luster of the white satin entirely, making the spliced purple lining look distinctly layered under strong light. I made some adjustments to my posing this time—instead of choosing a common dignified standing posture, I lifted the skirt and leaned forward to give my body a dynamic curve, making the movement of the Gorgeous skirt hem feel more natural. For post-processing, Teacher Kele helped refine the skin texture while preserving original facial bone structure without over-smoothing, which I am very satisfied with.

Night view cosplay photography is actually harder to control than daytime shooting, because it requires ensuring normal exposure for the subject while keeping the background dark enough to make the character pop. This location selection conveniently utilized the lines of European stone pillars as visual guidance in the frame, and the low-angle shot made me look taller. The vine-like headpiece on my head produced a subtle glow after lighting up, which was cold-light material specially added by the prop master. Actually, every time I cosplay in such a voluminous costume, my biggest worry is moving around and traveling between spots; fortunately, the wind wasn't too strong on the shoot day, so the skirt didn't flip around too messily. The full photo set is still being scheduled, so today I'm sharing a single shot I personally really love as a teaser. This dress has a lot of details, including hollow straps on the shoulders, geometric decorations on the chest, and purple gradient prints along the edge of the skirt—every detail is worth zooming in to inspect. I personally really enjoy this dramatic tension under night lighting, matching with the Pink wig; unlike the transparent daylight, it adds a touch of mystery.

Doing cosplay for me isn't just about putting on clothes and taking a pose, but more importantly expressing the character's state in a specific scene, even if it's just a frozen moment. For the post-production color grading of this set, we didn't do much color shifting, basically restoring the on-site light feel, focusing on maintaining the purity of white and the saturation of purple. The editor also smoothed out some wrinkle shadows on the skirt to make it look more three-dimensional. Currently, the full set is still in the retoucher's schedule, and the rest of the photos should be processed this week. The temperature on shooting day wasn't high, and cool night breezes blew in, filling the inside of the skirt with wind, but that feeling of standing wrapped in the outfit in the night was truly wonderful. I feel that photos with a certain dynamic tension can convey the character's lively aura much better than rigid standing poses. I hope to have more opportunities to challenge similar design styles in the future, and thanks to the photographer for their patient guidance.
