[Shinjuku Saber cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: Documenting a Hundred Jacket Flips

I flipped the jacket nearly a hundred times before finally capturing this split-second Shinjuku Saber moment—my arms were completely sore by the end. The main goal this time was to faithfully recreate the effortless, dashing posture shown in the original art on P2.

When preparing this outfit, the primary focus was the tailoring of the red-and-black color-blocked jacket and the boots. The styling of a black camisole paired with denim shorts is quite unforgiving on body proportions; to elongate the leg lines, I tested several boots of varying heights before settling on the over-the-knee High boots shown in the photos. The jacket was made from a fabric with substantial drape; without that weight, tossing it wouldn't produce that crisp, frozen-in-motion tension.

For the location, we selected a clean, light-colored wall so the striking contrast of the red-and-black jacket could pop to the fullest. Because the pose involved looking back over my shoulder, keeping my center of gravity steady was difficult, requiring close coordination with the photographer's angle to align my line of sight with the reference illustration. The hardest part, however, was definitely the jacket: to ensure the crimson lining flared open cleanly behind my back, I had to repeatedly fling and whip it with force, relying entirely on burst-fire shutter timing to nail the kinetic motion. With no ambient breeze, it was purely powered by arm strength, which is why it took close to a hundred swings to pick out a handful of usable frames.

P2 shows the original illustration, where the linework is exceptionally sharp and her gaze carries a piercing edge, so I spent considerable effort dialing in facial expressions. Despite wearing minimal layers, constantly whipping the jacket left me drenched in sweat, nearly collapsing from exhaustion by wrap time. Yet seeing the billowing arc of the red-and-black jacket closely match the kinetic flow of the P2 art made every single one of those hundred swings feel thoroughly worthwhile. This hard-boiled yet sultry Anime-style photo set is an absolute visual treat.
