This photoshoot set themed around "Drunk in the Cherry Blossom Blizzard" actually took quite some time, from finalizing the outfit in the early stages to the final photos. As a coser who prefers Japanese-style elements, I intentionally incorporated more dreamy and girly visual styles on top of Touhou Project's classic setting this time. The light blue and white paneled Lolita dress, paired with a cherry-blossom pink short wig, gives the character a bit less solemnity and an extra layer of airy color.

To present that sense of serenity of "sleeping eternally in Hakugyokurou," the arrangement of the location was done with great care. The warm-toned lanterns next to the wooden lattice shoji doors, the red koi patterns on the carpet, and the purplish-pink blossoms scattered around the wooden table all formed an excellent foundation for the real set. The posing during the shoot was intentionally adjusted; I needed to lean half-recumbent on the wooden floor, paired with a transparent lace umbrella, to search for a natural and relaxed narrative state.

In the actual shoot, there were many high-angle close-up shots, and the photographer was excellent at using blurred branches in the foreground to frame the image. To complement the light, shadow, and foreground composition, we repeatedly changed the lying angles several times to ensure that the lace on the skirt hem could scatter evenly like a flower. Although walking around with a heavy skirt hem and geta was a bit clumsy, under the soft blend of light, the pink hair strands and the light-colored dress merged into a very gentle atmosphere.

This set of photos rarely balances the layering of depth of field with the character's own emotional expression. Without overly intense colors, the overall tone maintains low-saturation soft pinks and blues, making the frame look much cleaner. I hope to continue this kind of delicate set design and composition in the future to discover more diverse temperaments of the character. The light and shadow quality and details from this dreamy girl photography are truly one of my recent favorites for a moe anime style cosplay project.
