[Yukimura Chieri Cosplay] The Catgirl Maid on the Stone Steps from a Galgame

I shot this set of Yukimura Chieri cosplay, a character originating from a Galgame I used to play. After finalizing this shoot plan, my first consideration was how to accurately recreate the details from the original design. This black and white checkered maid-style dress is the core of the outfit, featuring black lacing on the chest and a heavy layering of black lace at the neckline. Paired with a small apron with a bow underneath, the overall look has a strong sense of depth. The letter embroidery on the apron is a detail I personally find very exquisite.

The silver long-hair wig needed to be styled to look completely natural. With intricate braided hair on both sides and white flower accessories, the wig required quite a bit of care. The cat-ear headband with a large black bow on top enhanced the cuteness. To secure this accessory, I added a few hidden clips to the headband to prevent it from falling off during outdoor activities.

For props, I prepared a vintage-style off-white bowl and a light-colored plate, hoping to echo the character's everyday yet service-oriented setting. The shooting location was selected in a small outdoor courtyard with stone steps and brick low walls, with the walls completely covered in green vines. Natural light and the green background could nicely highlight the black, white, and grey color scheme of the outfit, keeping the image from looking too cluttered.

During the shoot, I tried a pose holding the bowl and tray; keeping a straight, front-facing posture made the overall composition look cleaner. The photographer guided me to adjust the angle of my arms slightly to avoid the bowl and plate blocking the dress details. The classic combination of white thigh-highs and black leather shoes is also a staple in Anime-style fashion, matching the overall styling perfectly.

Although there were some bug bites during the outdoor portrait shoot, seeing the raw photos made it feel completely worth it. This set has a fresh and natural style without too much fancy post-processing, mainly aiming to present the character's original texture and atmosphere.

Let's talk about the wearing experience of this outfit. The checkered fabric is quite structured, so the puffiness of the skirt flare is very natural without needing an extra petticoat. The lacing on the chest required patient adjustment when putting it on and taking it off to maintain the character's graceful lines without being uncomfortably tight. The white ruffled cuffs added a touch of softness, echoing the white flower decorations on the head.

The makeup selected today was also specifically adjusted to not be too heavy. Faint blush and a clear base makeup, paired with light-colored contacts, fit well with the healing art style commonly seen in Galgames. The gaze didn't need to be too sharp; maintaining a soft and calm expression was best.

After finishing the shoot and returning indoors, I carefully reviewed these photos. Outdoor shooting is always full of uncertainties—for instance, the wind can mess up the bangs, and the light changes constantly. But precisely because of these dynamic factors, it gave the photos a vivid sense of breathability. Combined with the texture of the stone steps and walls, it felt as though a game character had walked into real-world scenery. I think this contrast is exactly the charm of cosplay, embodying one's own aesthetics and understanding of the character through clothing, makeup, and scenes.

Before every shoot, I always do a bit of homework to recall the character's expressions and movements in the original work. Although the shooting time is limited, being able to touch the traces of her life under that worldview through this outfit, even if just for a brief moment, is a very interesting thing.

Finally, that's all for the complete sharing of this look. To give some honest feedback, although this outfit looks beautiful, shooting in a long-sleeved outfit with layers outdoors in the summer was indeed a bit stuffy and hot.
