This time I am cosplaying Xuenü and Gao Jianli from Honor of Kings, which can be considered my signature hero. From the initial costume pattern-making to the trimming of the wig and the direction of the hair strands, every detail was repeatedly adjusted for a long time. This battle robe has many white and blue gradient layers, especially the plush on the neckline and cuffs. To achieve that fluffy and lightweight texture in the photos, many layers of support were added inside. The glowing effect of the staff was synthesized in post-production, but during the shoot, I specifically experimented with dozens of postures for the holding angle and center of gravity before finally deciding on this grip that showcases both majesty and elegance.
The wind on set perfectly complemented the flowing feel of the wig. Braving the strong wind throughout the shoot actually allowed the character's aura of being a "warrior in the bitter cold wind" to emerge naturally. The post-production light, shadow, and snow particle effects were also extended based on the original character art's skill special effects, doing our best to restore the pressure and aesthetic beauty when the hero unleashes her ultimate skill.
Actually, having played this hero for many years, from initially being attracted by her frost skills to later understanding the core of her story better, every cosplay is a process of getting to know the character anew. Being able to materialize the Xuenü in my heart through the work in my hands this time gives me a true sense of accomplishment. I also met many fellow fans during the shooting process; everyone helped each other arrange their outfits and exchanged thoughts on cosplaying, creating a wonderful atmosphere. As the saying goes, "With no man in the heart, drawing the sword naturally makes one divine." The moment I held the staff, I truly felt that concentration and power unique to an ice and snow mage. I'm quite satisfied with the final photos this time, and I hope to pass on this 2D shock to more friends who love this character.
