For the Wuthering Waves x Tao Tao Ju Collaboration this time, I prepared this traditional Chinese style cosplay outfit for Yangyang cosplay. The overall costume palette centers on deep blue and white; the outer wide-sleeved robe is adorned with golden brocade jacquard patterns, creating rich fabric texture and layering when catching the light. The inner layer is a white high-neck top, with the deep blue waist cincher embroidered with traditional motifs in gold and red. Flowing downward with red tassels and green ribbons, it offers breathtaking dynamic elegance with every step.
The wig features a gradient transitioning from deep blue down to light blue tips, with fine glitter blended into the strands to yield subtle shimmering reflections under natural light. Hair accessories incorporate white feather and floral ornaments, alongside a red orb pendant dangling by my cheek. Securing these details took considerable styling time to keep the volume fluffy while preventing any clips or pins from showing. For makeup, I deepened reddish-brown eyeshadow tones paired with full, plump lips, creating an exquisite visual contrast against the cool-toned blue hair.
The photoshoot location was an outdoor rooftop, backed by a dark green lattice screen. Although an adjacent outdoor air conditioning unit slightly stole the spotlight, the sunlight was wonderfully ample. I carried a blue paper umbrella as a handheld prop, paired with white gloves and white stockings, aiming to convey a poised, dignified yet refreshingly crisp sense of layering.
What tests you most on location shoots is garment management. This outfit features numerous overlapping layers, requiring me to readjust the drapery sash and tassels after every pose change. I experimented with extending one hand forward, gently cradling my chin, and standing in profile, hoping to seize the character's vivid, spirited demeanor. I'm very pleased with the overall lighting and color accuracy, especially the blue gradient, which looks remarkably textured under this natural light. This styling exudes a profound traditional Chinese vibe, and I hope everyone enjoys this portrayal.
