For this Magical Girl look of Moria Ruruka, I chose a clean white studio to highlight the dark tones of the costume and the texture of the gold trim. The clothing has many layers; the bow tie, shoulder armor, and the ruffles of the skirt stand out more against the solid-colored background. The magical staff prop from the original design is quite well restored, with a purple staff body and a clock decoration on the top, which feels heavy in hand. During the shoot, I used doll props in the same color scheme to enrich hand gestures and interaction in the frames. In the white studio, I tried different composition angles such as standing, sitting, and close-ups, focusing on showing the character's playfulness and the Magical Girl temperament. Since the clothing itself is somewhat stiff, I made sure to maintain overall balance when adjusting the skirt and rotating the staff. To get closer to the agility of the original character, I didn't deliberately strike a cold expression, but leaned towards being soft and confident, making the photos look natural and not stiff. Post-production unified the tones, trying to keep the background clean and enhancing the contrast of the black and gold color scheme. This set of photos is a thoughtful restoration of this character, and it is quite fulfilling to be able to show the clothing details against a monochrome background.
