For this shoot, I selected an exceptionally commanding black female police uniform. The overall costume construction is quite unique: the top combines a short-sleeved shirt with a leather underbust corset, deliberately designed as a cropped midriff cut, while the lower half features a fitted pencil mini-skirt fastened with a multi-buckle black leather belt. To amplify the edgy coolness, fingerless leather gloves and a peaked cap with a silver badge were added. Naturally, the soul of the entire styling lies in these sheer black stockings and the pointed-toe stiletto heels with red soles, which instantly locked in an imposing presence the moment they were put on.
The shooting location was an indoor studio featuring dark gray vertical slatted wall panels in the background, complemented by a black sofa and white cloud-shaped cushions; this black-white-gray palette suited the sleek, cold aesthetic of the garments wonderfully. When shooting this kind of Uniform photoshoot theme, body control is the true test. Because the outfit is form-fitting, you have to consciously engage your core in front of the lens to keep your spine and waist impeccably straight. Photographer b-kun is remarkably skilled with lighting, particularly excelling at using side-rim light to illuminate the sheer stockings, making Long legs in black stockings appear sculpted and fluid while keeping facial highlights crisp and clean.
Many girls might imagine posing in stilettos is effortless, but holding postures with weight balanced on the balls of your feet for hours is immensely draining. For example, in the second photo—raising the prop gun upward in the right hand with the left hand resting naturally—this seemingly casual stance actually requires shifting your entire body weight onto one leg while extending the other forward to visually elongate proportions. To keep arm lines looking fluid, shoulders had to stay dropped while the wrist engaged firmly to grip the prop. The pose in the first photo, touching the cap's brim with one hand, followed the same principle, using a subtle torso and waist twist to accentuate body contours. Beyond the cool detachment of a police officer, this series aimed to evoke the mature charm of an Onee-san style persona, so I maintained a resolute yet subtly languid gaze, staring directly into the lens to heighten connection.
Production assistant 正版滺然-李机智 was an immense help during the shoot, repeatedly straightening the belt and skirt hem that shifted with large movements, while keeping a close eye on stray hairs and makeup details from the sidelines. Though physically exhausting throughout, seeing the texture displayed on the monitor made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile. For anyone wanting to try a similar Cosplay photography style, pay close attention to sheen and texture when choosing stockings: overly thin pairs cause harsh glare, while overly opaque ones lose translucency. Additionally, leaning on prop firearms and caps as visual anchors eases awkward hand placement while enriching the storytelling of your shots.
