This outfit shot this time combines starry sky elements with a black wing style, with the overall style leaning towards a fusion of techwear and anime settings. At first glance at the character design sheet, I was attracted by the combination of spliced sleeves and the starry sky short skirt, because this design can showcase a strong sense of layering in a studio shooting environment.
The fitting experience after actually getting the costume was quite good, but there are also some small details that need attention. This outfit includes a white turn-down collar, a black bowknot hair accessory, star-shaped hairpins, as well as a metal buckle and suspender elements at the waist. The pattern of the black corset on the upper body is relatively fixed, which can outline the character's figure beautifully while preventing the clothes from moving out of place due to excessive movements. The arm part adopts detached black tulle large sleeves; this material has a semi-transparent refractive effect under strong light, paired with stiff pleated fabric, which hangs down naturally backward when hand movements are raised.
The starry sky short skirt for the lower body is also one of the highlights of this look, with white small light spots scattered on the deep blue and black base color, simulating a dreamy sense of a starry sky girl. Paired with black over-the-knee socks and glossy high heels, it beautifully extends the leg proportions visually. The garter belt design gave me greater freedom in shooting poses; for example, when lifting a hand to make a V-sign gesture, the overall lines look more continuous, and the skirt hem will present natural folds with the movement. From a shooting perspective, the biggest advantage of white-background studio photography is that it can fully reflect the color contrast of the costume; the pink hair appears extremely bright under this light, and the layers in the hair color are clearly visible.
This shoot actually put my stamina and core strength to the test, especially the black wing feather prop on my back. Although the photos show a refreshing look without wings, when wearing the wings, you need to pay close attention to the balance of the center of gravity and keep breathing steady to stand firmly and strike natural, relaxed poses. The sight of feathers scattered across the white background is very pure, and the strong contrast between black and white creates a clean and crisp impression. I really like this high-contrast presentation style.
Looking back at the photos, I can also feel many small details of this look, such as that touch of red tassel at the neckline, which stands out prominently in the primarily black-and-white color palette. The fluffiness of the sleeves, paired with the light pink makeup on the face, gives the overall temperament both the cold coolness belonging to the character and a touch of playfulness. The wig was worn very securely, and styling the bangs and stray hairs took some time, but the final setting effect was great and could fit the hair accessories well.
During the shooting process, I tried different poses, including open-arm grand states, as well as detailed close-ups emphasizing the local features of the costume using the body. Although a pure white background looks simple, achieving tension requires high demands on expressions, posture, and maintaining the state of the costume. Every time a set was completed, I would sweat a little bit. At times like that, I really wanted a refreshing drink. I've been teased about being able to drink three cups of milk tea; actually, I think replenishing moisture and a bit of sweets is indeed very appropriate after completing a high-intensity, high-movement cosplay session like this.
The completion of this costume is higher than I expected, especially the subtle light and shadow changes of the starry sky print on the skirt hem rotating at different angles. I really enjoy the fulfillment of focusing on doing one thing, from makeup and hair to props, trying my best to fit the feeling of the original work in every step.
