Putting on this Fools' Nocturne outfit again after a year, I came to a high-rise building by the river in Chongqing to shoot this night view. The collision between the city's brilliant neon lights and the reflections from the glossy patent leather material in front of the lens turned out truly satisfying results.

Choosing Chongqing as the shooting location this time was precisely because of its unique 3D urban structure. Standing on a high-altitude steel structure platform with the ceaseless river flowing beneath my feet and the bustling architectural lines of the entire city behind my back, this high-altitude pressure and commanding visual tension perfectly fit the character's casual, effortless aura on the battlefield. Many fellow fans asked me why I insisted on high-altitude aerial photography; in fact, the bokeh spots of the night scene can beautifully compensate for a cluttered background while focusing the visual weight onto the character, which helps immensely in hiding imperfections.

However, the shooting cost was indeed something I hesitated over. The venue fee and security measures added up to a non-negligible expense. The saying that Chongqing is "great for shooting but too expensive" is absolutely true; to find the ideal camera positions and ensure safety, a massive amount of energy was spent on early site scouting and communication. Yet all these efforts felt completely worth it upon seeing the raw plates. Due to the uniqueness of this outfit, beyond just the tailoring and prop coordination, the texture of the black patent leather cosplay must be explicitly showcased so it doesn't look dull in night photography.

There was a small episode during the shoot: the wind at high altitude was quite strong, so the wig and props needed to be secured exceptionally tightly. The photographer opted for a low-angle shot, which, combined with my body tilt, extended the character's lines, preserving her coolness while adding a touch of sensuality. The powerful reflections of the patent leather long boots formed a warm and cold contrast with the high-altitude environment, making the photo's black, white, and red color scheme look much more premium. The rope props in the back also served as an excellent accent, enhancing the scene's realism.

In post-processing, I intentionally retained some noise to increase the film atmosphere of the night city photos, avoiding excessive skin smoothing or whitening, because the texture of the patent leather garment itself needs to preserve its sheen to hold the right flavor. After the skin's lighting was treated with soft light, it formed a conflict of soft and hard against the rigid metal and patent leather, which is exactly the texture pursued in a finished cosplay photoshoot. I hope this photoset isn't just a simple character imitation but can convey that ambient feel of standing completely alone at the highest point of the city.

This shooting experience was still highly pleasant. Thanks to the photographer's patient cooperation throughout the entire process, accurately capturing every frame detail I wanted. For fellow fans who want to experiment with shooting similar high-altitude night view photosets, I truly recommend first assessing your own safety conditions, and only then considering composition and lighting. Once these early preparations are done, just leave the rest to the lens to work its magic.
