This white dress with blue borders and a sailor collar serves as the core of this shoot. Paired with a bright red necktie, the overall styling exudes a crisp and clean tone.

The garment features a relatively loose, long-cut design with the hem falling right around the upper-middle thigh. Combined with the large area of bright blue color-blocking on the cuffs, it gives off a lively and lightweight feeling. To match this sailor suit outfit, a pale gold long straight wig was selected this time. The hair strands are quite smooth, and the ahoge on top of the head along with the black bows on both sides serve as the crowning touch, keeping the overall styling from looking monotonous. The makeup selected red colored contacts to create a subtle echo with the red necktie, making the overall makeup look highly translucent and clean.

The shooting location was set on a riverside walkway in Chongqing. Everyone knows Chongqing is a mountain city, but this expansive openness by the river is also perfect for Chongqing location photography. In the background stands a red-and-white navigation beacon tower, while the distant river water and the silhouettes of skyscrapers on the opposite bank present a soft bokeh effect under the lens. The light on the shooting day was relatively intense, and direct sunlight could easily cause overexposure. Therefore, the photographer primarily used a large aperture, utilizing the large area of bright light to manufacture a dreamlike, bright sense of airy atmosphere.

To better fit the character's traits, we made several attempts at movement design. For instance, in one shot, I stood bare-footed on the walkway tiles, holding a pair of small black leather shoes in my hand to convey a casual and carefree vibe. Additionally, we tried multiple postures including hands on hips, extending a hand forward in invitation, and smiling while looking back over my shoulder. Among them, there is a snap-captured shot of me holding the skirt hem while leaning slightly forward that I personally prefer, because that angle makes the costume's silhouette look more natural while showcasing the bare-legged visual effect. Another non-negligible element when shooting by the riverside is the wind. When the wind blew my hair and skirt hem, although it increased the shooting difficulty, it also kept the frame from looking rigid, adding a dynamic sense of breathing room.

During post-processing, we skipped heavy filters, mainly correcting the highlights and shadows to preserve the cleanliness of the white color. Outdoor environments in Chongqing are actually a big test for post-production because the architecture and river water carry quite a lot of colors. We needed to keep the character subject completely clean without entirely stripping away the depth of the background, which required a delicate bit of balance. Looking back at the entire process—from scouting the location, changing outfits, and finding light positions to the final output of this Anime cosplay set—although it took a chunk of time, bringing a character I love into a real environment and presenting her this way delivers a very pure joy.

This shoot allowed me to deeply realize that the charm of outdoor location shoots lies exactly in their uncontrollability; every fraction of a second when the wind rises, or when the sunlight flickers through the clouds, a unique photo is born. This set of photos basically followed the logic of Japanese-style location shoots, relying entirely on natural light to shape the character's silhouette without forced hard-light fill. Paired with this white-and-blue uniform, it doesn't look bloated and beautifully exhibits the body lines. Hope everyone can perceive my relaxed mood while standing by the riverside through these images.
