[Ye Shunguang Cosplay & Ye Shiyuan Cosplay] Convention Shots of the Zenless Zone Zero Sibling Duo

For this session, we cosplayed the siblings Ye Shunguang and Ye Shiyuan from Zenless Zone Zero. The first image is a close-up selfie portrait focusing mainly on head makeup and neckline details, while the second is a candid duo stance with weapons captured on-site, aiming to recreate the silent understanding when fighting side-by-side.

Let's start with Ye Shunguang Cosplay. The upper body features a black high-neck base layer combined with a silver zipper, worn under a yellow-and-white color-blocked vest with sharp outlines and clean edge tailoring. The arm sleeves are wrapped in black leather with white rigid armor at both ends, reflecting a distinct metallic luster under the convention venue's overhead lighting. To capture the character's sharp gaze, red contact lenses were worn, and a red symbol was hand-painted directly in the center of the forehead. The wig underwent inner teasing and fluffing so that even after running around the stifling hall all day, the hair maintained its intended messy, breezy volume.

Meanwhile, Ye Shiyuan cosplay incorporated many traditional Chinese elements into her design. The mandarin collar with frog button closure paired with a silver chest buckle creates rich visual layering on her short top spliced in black, white, and yellow. The most intricate headpiece section features two striking 3D red strip ornaments, red flower knots with trailing white ribbons on both sides, and a white forehead band, instantly making her face appear small and delicate. Cutouts at the shoulders and metal rings on her arms highlight her agility as a combat character in the finer details. For overall makeup and styling, we kept the complexion fair and clean to emphasize the red pupils and eye makeup.

The props held in the second photo are joint devices that received meticulous weathering and paint work, adding orange tassels to the grey-and-white structure with metal rings. Because the props have considerable length, holding them in crowded convention aisles required extra caution to avoid bumping into passersby. During the candid shot in Photo 2, the dark background and overhead spotlights happened to accentuate the facial light and shadow, capturing a focused and intense gaze perfectly.

The ultimate test throughout the shoot was physical stamina. Wearing multi-layered leather and fabric costumes, combined with long hours in colored contacts and heavy wigs, truly tested our professionalism. Temperature fluctuated wildly inside the venue, requiring us to tidy up sweat-dampened bangs after every few sets. Luckily, we were already very familiar with the costume construction, so mutual adjustments to stray hair and weapon angles went smoothly.

The sibling bond in the lore runs deep; portraying this through cosplay requires thorough preparation in body posture and eye contact. Whether cozying up close in the first selfie or holding weapons together in the second picture, we strived to convey that unspoken trust of fighting shoulder to shoulder. Friendly fellow fans approached us for photos, showing great courtesy and giving us plenty of space, making the atmosphere fantastic.

Being able to materialize beloved characters through cosplay and showcase their interactions in front of convention lenses brings a huge sense of fulfillment. These two photos capture our authentic state of the day, free from heavy retouching, preserving a natural vibe of convention photography and casual cosplay.
