[Evelyn cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Techwear in a Retro Electronic Studio

The set for this shoot was arranged in a retro electronic studio packed with vintage CRT monitors and studio monitor speakers. To bring out the character's fierce presence, I chose tight black leather pants paired with a white sleeveless top, layered under that short red-and-black jacket adorned with gold tassels. Wearing leather in summer is truly no small challenge—especially with form-fitting leather pants where even the slightest movement in warm weather makes you break into a sweat. Fortunately, the studio's air conditioning was fantastic, allowing me to maintain my best condition throughout the shoot.

This look features countless intricate details: beyond the gold necktie across the chest, the metal rings and harness straps around the waist are particularly exquisite. The knee-high black boots feature gold-tipped toes and heels, complemented by metallic butterfly accents along the sides. While they beautifully elongated my leg lines, standing in them for extended periods was genuinely taxing on my feet, so I had to slip into flat shoes during breaks to rest. The wig is a short blonde style with blunt bangs and thin side braids, requiring careful adjustment before every take so it wouldn't look frizzy on camera. To match the character's makeup, I used pinkish tones for the eyes and picked a vibrant lipstick shade, adding depth and visual impact under cool-toned studio lighting.

Photographer Barricade is exceptional at capturing dynamic moments. To accentuate the leather's sheen and body proportions, we experimented with numerous low-angle upward shots. The static snow and test patterns glowing on the vintage TV screens, alongside the stacked amplifiers, lent the frame a heavy industrial edge. I tried actions like tugging at the jacket lapels, crossing my arms, and perching atop a black flight case with one leg extended outward. Because the leather pants are slick and tight, sitting down and standing back up required carefully smoothing out creases to prevent awkward bunching on camera. The geometric ceiling light tubes and floor uplights created rich, layered contrast, giving the leather's reflective surface a remarkably tactile finish.

The overall atmosphere of this shoot was intensely immersive; the mixing consoles and rack-mounted gear in the background weren't just props, and between takes, we played deep electronic beats to stay in rhythm. Even though donning leather in summer tested both stamina and skin—literally pouring out sweat each time I took it off—seeing the striking visual clash of black, white, red, and gold in the final images made every bit of effort worth it. Maintaining this Techwear ensemble also takes work; the leather pieces cannot be folded, needing specialized leather conditioner wipes and hanging in ventilated areas after every shoot. The lighting layout in the studio was equally nuanced: combining cool white overheads with rim floor lights cleanly sculpted my silhouette while giving the vintage gear an authentic cyberpunk mood. Overall, the harmony between the costume details and the setting met every expectation, making it an extraordinarily fulfilling creative project.
