Putting on this black OL workplace outfit, round glasses, and iconic long white hair while standing in front of a whiteboard covered in newspaper clippings—this contrast between everyday office setting and character vibe instantly builds atmosphere. I've pondered this custom design cosplay attempt for Yixuan outside Zenless Zone Zero for quite a while. The true charm of custom design cosplay lies in breaking the character's original context, imagining what she would be like sitting in a modern office.

The hardest part during the shoot was maintaining the styling's stability. Although flowing, long white curly hair tends to merge with black clothing during shooting, losing depth and layers. Therefore, every four or five photos, we stopped to adjust the flow of hair tips, ensuring every turn captured flowing hair lines. The pairing of black-framed glasses and golden contacts had to sit precisely within the eye socket—neither blocking the gaze nor failing to convey a cool, composed sense of control.

Instead of choosing a rigid business suit, we picked a black blouse with subtle luster matched with a structured, form-fitting leather skirt. This material contrast delivers strong visual tension within subtle low-key styling. The black stockings for the lower body were chosen after testing several options—they needed to suppress bright specular highlights while creating natural gray-tonal transitions along leg turns, pairing with leather skirt textures to outline crisp leg curves.

Leaning sideways against a black office chair while holding a white clipboard during posing felt casual, but turning back required tight core control. Keeping shoulders relaxed while letting fingers rest naturally captured an effortless working state. I especially love the looking-back moment captured in the second image; from a rear-side angle, fluffy hair, skirt contours, and extending black stockings form harmonious visual proportions.

Scene selection remained minimalist—a whiteboard plastered with vintage newspapers and a yellow triangle ruler in the corner created a slightly cluttered yet work-centric ambiance. This environment suits capturing subtle transitional moments: zoning out briefly after finishing tasks or preparing for the next assignment. While the character's intrinsic temperament is cool and focused, custom design cosplay allowed me to explore relaxed, playful possibilities on that foundation.

Shooting this set reassured me that concerns over OOC (Out of Character) or custom design cosplay can be set aside. As long as the character's core personality remains intact, changing outfits provides fresh interpretations. Without overly complex plot lines, this set relies on styling and expression to convey tone. I hope this crisp black-and-white visual—carrying subtle workplace restraint infused with vitality—lets viewers appreciate different sides of her charm.
