[Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay] Arknights: Red-and-Black Sacred Grace and Playful Charm

When shooting this Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay set, the biggest challenge was actually the white wing accessories on my back. They looked light and airy, but were surprisingly heavy in reality and required constant angle adjustments with every movement to avoid exposing support rigs. To manage reflections from the mechanical clock and gears in the set, adjusting the lights during pre-shoot took considerable time; hence, makeup contouring was specifically tailored to on-set highlights, defining the shadows along the cheeks and jawline so the face wouldn't appear flat even under intense illumination.

The wig was bright red, and during trimming, the bangs' thickness was carefully adjusted to cover the hairline without obstructing the eye color. For makeup, amber-brown colored contacts were paired with sharp, slightly upturned black eyeliner and red eyeshadow layered beneath the eyes, giving the gaze a look that was both sharp and subtly innocent—matching the character's lively yet cunning personality. Dressing was intricate: the subtle jacquard patterns and silver cross ornaments of the white dress had to remain smooth, while the black leather jacket was stiff and thick—wonderfully structured for silhouette, yet severely restricting mobility. The black leg straps paired with White tights cosplay and platform red-and-black boots required careful attention to thigh contouring while posing.

There were many details worth refining during the shoot. For instance, when holding the gun, finger placement and muzzle direction dramatically affected the overall atmosphere. To achieve a natural, casual feel, the photographer and I tested multiple angles. The most amusing interaction was with the box of pineapple buns: to express her playful and foodie personality, I held it for quite a while, handling it delicately so the box wouldn't get crushed and spoil the shot.

Beyond standing and seated poses, I especially loved the angle leaning over the railing; against the backdrop of chains and white tulle, it created a wonderful collision of solitude and sacred reverence. This photo set was not merely an outfit change, but an in-depth interpretation of character personality—recreating original illustrations through fine details is a true test of core fundamentals. As a comprehensive Game cosplay shoot, though exhausting, sharing this creative process and the final results brings immense fulfillment.

The white drapes and gold frame in the set were exceptionally photogenic, creating a halo-like aura when standing behind them. To harmonize with the set's texture, I brought two pairs of contacts with different reflective effects to switch between. Shooting wide-angle scenes required fixing the white wings securely to my back while spreading the dress hem evenly across the red cushion—posing was physically demanding. Furthermore, the red ribbons would easily get caught in the boot buckles if I wasn't careful, costing us nearly ten minutes. Behind every effortless pose lay continuous mirror adjustments. Because the character is vibrant and energetic, I experimented with many candid micro-actions—like winking, flashing a peace sign, or tilting my head while holding the weapon.

In post-production communication, we deliberately enhanced the metallic texture and enriched the red-and-black palette, making it pop against the cool-toned clock background. White tights under strong highlights can easily overexpose, so soft lighting was deliberately used during shooting to preserve fabric texture and three-dimensional leg contours. From morning makeup prep to afternoon studio shooting, there was hardly any break all day. While the leather jacket was heavy and wearing all the gear was exhausting, seeing the character's presence and faithful details in the photos made every moment worthwhile in this Anime cosplay journey.

I also prepared well-fitting straps to ensure the thigh rings wouldn't pinch awkward creases. If you look closely at the weapon in the photos, there are numerous intricate details—including colors and patterns—whose placement I meticulously adjusted. As a cosplayer striving for perfection, I scrutinize even the angle of a small accessory, because the final frame is the culmination of every single detail.
