To faithfully recreate Ciel's look from Fate/Grand Order this time, I poured a lot of thought into the hair, makeup, and wardrobe. First came the core blue wig: to make the ahoge atop the head stand upright naturally, I styled and set it with hairspray multiple times beforehand, keeping the straight blunt bangs trimmed cleanly to channel the character's crisp, capable demeanor. For the eye makeup, bright blue contact lenses were paired with slightly upturned eyeliner wings, striving to evoke that touch of playfulness and underlying mystery during a wink. The base makeup remained clean and translucent, with blush kept very subtle to let the natural lip tint shine through, ensuring that a winking expression before the camera wouldn't read as overly heavy.
In terms of wardrobe coordination, the white piping along the black jacket serves as the visual anchor. To keep the jacket from appearing monotonous, I layered a metallic silver-gray zip-up inner top underneath. Its fabric carries a subtle metallic sheen that catches the light beautifully when shooting, accentuating body curves cleanly. The black choker around my neck and the golden cross pendant are the quintessential soul accessories for this Ciel look; donning them instantly locked in the character's aura. I intentionally adjusted the necklace chain length so the cross rested just below the collarbones, which, paired with the open front of the jacket, forged a flattering visual V-line extension.
The shooting environment was kept relatively minimalist, featuring a backdrop of sheer white curtains. Light streamed in from the side and rear, perfectly illuminating the hair strands and facial contours. Raising a hand into a peace sign while winking aimed to convey her outward casualness juxtaposed against an inner sharpness. In truth, to capture the ideal wink timing and hand posture, we took rapid continuous bursts with the camera; holding my arm raised grew tiring, but seeing the vivid, lively expressions in the finished cuts made every bit of effort worthwhile.
Many say cosplay is about transforming completely into another person, but I view it more as a visual translation of one's understanding of a character. From the direction of every single wig fiber to the metallic luster of the jewelry and the conveyance of the gaze, every nuance shapes the ultimate outcome. To capture this satisfying presence, I reviewed the character lore in advance and rehearsed standing postures and facial expressions in the mirror repeatedly. The resulting images matched the aura I had envisioned: retaining that poised ease of a senior while conveying the genuine warmth of close-up interaction. Without forcing exaggerated stances, my goal was simply to bring out this character's authentic charm in a natural state.
