Putting on this blue and white color-blocked sportswear, wearing the fluffy fox ears and the small white flower hair accessory on top, I instantly felt like Mari Iochi from Blue Archive. This time, I specially chose the gymnasium's locker room and vaulting box as the shooting scene, which fits her status after daily training perfectly. Holding a sports drink bottle, or sitting on the vaulting box leaning slightly forward, naturally restores that aura of having just finished exercising, with a little bit of laziness and coziness. The light was quite soft during the shoot, making the texture of the blonde hair look very translucent, and the blue lanyard and STAFF ID card also became great embellishments.
Actually, every time I cosplay a sporty character, what I care about most is fixing the wig and animal ears. As an animal-eared girl, this time I specially adjusted the angles to ensure that whether looking down or looking up, nothing would ruin the look. The fabric of the costume was also selected to fit the lightweight feel of sportswear as much as possible, while balancing the sharp lines in the final photos. The chemistry with the photographer, Teacher Hongbai, was great. He is skilled at capturing that unintentional relaxation rather than rigid posing.
For example, spacing out while holding the water bottle, looking down to tidy the collar, or looking at the camera with a slightly playful gaze were all captured very naturally. Although this set doesn't have complex special effects or grand scenes, this daily life vibe is actually more durable and better reflects the character's real side. When organizing the photos during this gymnasium photoshoot, seeing my serious face made me unable to help but laugh out loud. Every time the carefully prepared costumes, makeup, and props can present a satisfying state in front of the lens, it is the best reward for the entire shooting process. I hope this set of photos can pass on Mari Iochi's sunny and slightly clumsy cuteness to more people.
