Regarding the white studio shoot for the character Skadi, when doing my homework beforehand, I really wanted to capture that trait of being battle-hardened yet maintaining absolute calmness. A white studio looks simple, but the cleaner the background, the higher the requirements for light, shadow, and facial expressions. Even a slight deviation in lighting can cause the black leather costume and silver-white wig to lose their texture. Fortunately, the photographer was extremely patient this time; we tried many poses to showcase the visual tension of Skadi holding that giant weapon. The greatsword prop was restored remarkably well; whether it was the mechanism patterns on the disc or the weight of the blade itself, wielding it in hand truly made me imagine the character's combat posture in the game. The black, white, and blue color scheme of the outfit is classic, and the pink lines on the cuffs serve as an excellent highlight within the dark color palette. The red colored contacts make the gaze look sharp and focused. I intentionally avoided using too many expressions, utilizing cold, hard eyes and postures to convey the hunter's unique detachment. Throughout the entire shoot, I felt a wonderful resonance with the character. Assisted by the solid-color lighting in the studio, this photo set successfully captured Skadi's aloofness and sharpness. Combined with the photographer's low-angle shot, it truly elevated the character's aura. The advantage of a white studio lies in focusing all attention on the coser's makeup, styling, wig, and prop details; I highly recommend everyone try this minimalist studio style. The black leather shorts and the straps on the legs perfectly align with Skadi's setting as an operator. The details of the greatsword are the same; considering that she needs a relatively refined yet practical weapon as a hunter, the captured texture definitely did justice to the prop maker's hard work. It was actually very exhausting midway through the shoot because the prop was large and heavy. Holding it up while maintaining a perfect posture required a bit of core strength. But seeing the final photos on the screen, that sense of accomplishment rushed in instantly. Although the lighting in a white studio is simple, it produces a slightly natural soft-light effect when reflecting off the white wig, keeping the white hair from looking rigid. To recreate that light yet dangerous feel from the game, I kept looking for the most balanced angles in my poses, needing to showcase the weapon's weight while avoiding looking overwhelmed by the prop. A lot of effort went into the details of this styling. I hope this interpretation of Skadi allows everyone to see a character restored as closely as possible to her 2D design.
