Bringing this Entelechia look and set design to life took considerable preparation from concept to execution. To faithfully recreate that aura of lethal elegance, we made numerous adjustments to garment tailoring and prop curation. The wig was purposefully styled with extra volume, paired with golden floral hair accessories and pointed elf ears. For makeup, striking red lenses were accented with a delicate beauty mark beneath the eye, and the eyeliner was swept upward to give the gaze a sharper, predatory edge. The gown was selected in a strapless black velvet, with the centerpiece being the emerald-green satin puff sleeves—delivering rich visual impact and lustrous texture that shifted dynamically with every movement. A metallic floral belt at the waist and delicate chains across the gloves served as the crowning touches, elevating the overall luxury.
The set design was entirely centered around a retro, moody aesthetic. The golden Baroque armchair, paired with a white-cloth-covered round table, silver candelabra, and a nearby angel statue, anchored the scene. Holding a glass of red wine—actually grape juice—demanded maintaining a languid yet aristocratic posture throughout shooting. The glass rim was slick, and avoiding spills onto the costume proved to be quite a delicate challenge.
While seated on the chair with legs crossed, the pearl straps of the heels dug into my feet, but enduring it was essential for the visual outcome. For the floor-seated pose in image 3, surrounded by scattered blue-and-white hydrangeas and red roses, we spent considerable time arranging the train to ensure proper drapery and lighting across the gown. We intentionally avoided exaggerated facial expressions, letting the eyes communicate the mood; the crimson lenses under cool lighting produced stunning raw shots straight out of camera.
Velvet naturally absorbs light, so the gaffer spent extensive time tuning rim and side-back lighting to carve out contours against the dark background. Conversely, the emerald satin sleeves were highly reflective, requiring continual adjustment of folds and sheen angles. Wearing a strapless gown meant maintaining an upright neck and shoulder posture without slouching, which would immediately ruin the regal poise. Holding the wine glass in mid-air for image 1 taxed my wrist and arm far more than expected. The full-length shot in image 2 highlighted the fluid drape of the velvet skirt, though standing for long periods in heels was undeniably tiring. In image 3, blankets and silk were arranged beneath me to achieve that organic spill of fabric, requiring core engagement to sit gracefully while keeping the train aligned.
Regarding makeup, wearing the red contacts caused mild discomfort and dryness during the long shoot, requiring frequent eye drops. The beauty mark was placed with great precision, and setting the base took time to endure the lighting heat. Beyond the props and physical set, the vintage ambiance relied on post-processing that preserved shadow details while heightening the contrast between red and green. The harmony between styling, makeup, and setting made this shoot deeply satisfying.
