Choosing to post it at this specific time point is not only to echo the festive atmosphere but also serves as a small sense of ritual for a coser.
Regarding this outfit, it was actually prepared for quite a long time. Different from ordinary rabbit characters, Tewi Inaba's iconic features include not only the white fluffy big ears but also her clear eyes carrying a hint of cunning red pupils. To replicate this temperament, I specially selected translucent red colored contacts, and the makeup was slightly upturned at the outer corners to emphasize a playful sense of "it seems like I didn't do anything bad." The wig features black hair paired with classic wispy air bangs and slightly curled ends, trying my best to make the beast ears on the top of the head naturally integrate with the hair.
In terms of clothing, a large area of pink tones was chosen, combining lace trim and plaid elements to give a Japanese-style sweet girlish charm. The small carrot decoration at the neckline and the red bow ribbon at the waist are the finishing touches of the entire dress. The most satisfying part is still that giant plush carrot prop, which is not only a visual highlight but also played a major role in guiding hand movements.
These convention photos were taken casually at an indoor comic con. Actually, the foot traffic inside the venue was quite heavy that day. To capture this kind of photo with a clean background and soft light perception, the photographer specially found a location close to the French windows. The overhead lights at the convention were relatively intense, and when shooting this kind of light-colored anime-style outfit, it is prone to overexposure, so the camera positions and angles were highly deliberate. This set of photos preserves the texture details of the clothing as much as possible, such as the lace transparency of the skirt hem and the texture of the plaid fabric, without excessively flattening the highlights, giving the frame a more breathable feel.
The action of cradling the carrot while waving with one hand was to express a relaxed and comfortable state, and this angle beautifully displays the facial contours and ears. As for that single-leg standing pose, it was actually a dynamic moment captured via snapshot. Freezing the most natural state that perfectly fits the character's casual and lazy aura within the instant of the shutter was also a great on-site collaboration.
Regarding the character Tewi Inaba, she is not just a bunny representing luck but also carries an innocent "bad taste." Therefore, during the shoot, I tried my best to make myself look as if I were telling lies unconsciously, keeping a bit of innocence in my eyes, with a faint, non-aggressive smile on my face. Grasping this kind of demeanor is far more difficult than simply striking cute poses.
Many people feel that Touhou Project is a highly classic, old-school IP in the ACG world, but the character's own vitality has never decayed. I always believe that good convention photos should not just be a pile of clothes and wigs, but should allow people to immediately associate them with the character's personality upon first glance. Therefore, whether it's how to hold the props or the visual point of gaze when taking photos, I worked hard to get close to the character's inherent aura.
Although it was very tiring during the shooting process, constantly adjusting standing positions and expressions amidst the passing crowds at the comic con, this is precisely where the fun of cosplay lies. The giant carrot prop was heavy to hold, but it felt unexpectedly handy during the interaction process. Every time I looked down at the carrot in my hands, it created an illusion of "I am indeed this lucky bunny herself."
The overall tone of the final prints leans towards bright and clean, and the white rabbit ears appear very light under the convention's ambient light. Although this styling is not complex, every minor detail, including the orange bead bracelet on the wrist and the bright red shoes, achieved color unification as much as possible.
