[Yixuan cosplay] The Collision of Classical Chinese Style and Black Stockings in Zenless Zone Zero

This Yixuan cosplay costume was executed with exquisite attention to detail. The jacket features a black pinstriped fabric with a subtle sheen, worn over an inner white button-up shirt accented at the collar by a circular blue brooch that serves as an eye-catching focal point. The dark charcoal underbust corset cinches the waistline tightly, adorned with metallic buttons and crisscross lacing that add dimensional structure to the silhouette. The wig is straight long white hair with an ahoge; getting that single upward-curving lock at the crown to hold its shape took multiple passes of heavy hairspray to achieve the ideal arc. For makeup, light-toned contact lenses were paired with crimson lips and softly smudged eyeliner, leaning into a cool, detached aesthetic.

The lower half coordinates a white miniskirt with lettuce-edge ruffles and high-denier Black stockings. The stockings boast a refined texture that catches highlights naturally under studio strobes, paired with black High heels featuring signature red soles that peek out subtly with every step and pose. To flatter the lines on camera, I spent hours practicing standing and seated postures in the mirror; balancing in high heels for extended takes strains the ankles, requiring engaged core strength to maintain stability.

The set design in this Chinese style scene took considerable planning. Massive hanging scrolls bearing cursive calligraphy and ink-wash landscape paintings formed the backdrop, flanked by verdant green bamboo. Dark parquetry wooden flooring and a traditional Chinese wooden armchair established the mood of a scholar's classical study. To harmonize with this fusion of modern tailoring and traditional aesthetics, we engineered a dedicated chiaroscuro lighting scheme. Rather than evenly washing the room, we used cucoloris gobos to cast dappled shadows of branches and bamboo across the backdrop.

During shooting, I explored varied physical poses. In standing shots, I turned away to look back over the shoulder with one hand raised and fingertips curved slightly upward—a movement demanding coordinated spine and waist flexibility to showcase bodily curves mid-turn. Seated shots featured crossed legs, with one hand idly brushing my hair or cheek while meeting the lens with a direct, piercing stare to convey aloof, languid composure. The sheer, calligraphy-printed tulle stole draped over my shoulders added effortless, airy movement. Working closely with the photographer to continually refine angles and postures made the final chiaroscuro contrast and leg definition deeply rewarding, capturing the garment's tactile quality flawlessly.
