[2B cosplay] Bride Styling Convention Photos: A Hardcore Collision of Black Tulle and Patent Leather Boots

For this convention, I selected 2B's Bride spin-off design as my primary battle attire. The entire outfit boasts strong visual layering: the upper body features a black high-neck base covered by a layer of semi-translucent black tulle, accented with light gray geometric totem prints across the chest. To make the upper silhouette more three-dimensional, I treated the interior of the sleeves so that the voluminous bell cuffs would drape naturally. The lower half was paired with a black lace mini skirt and over-the-knee black stockings; the lace trim's width and length were meticulously balanced to crisply trace the contours of my legs.

The footwear is one of the standout focal points—a pair of glossy black knee-high heeled boots, commonly known as patent leather boots. Under the bright illumination of the convention hall, patent leather reflects light very easily, meaning any slight wrinkle or imperfection is immediately magnified. Therefore, before heading out, I used specialized leather care polish to buff the surface until it gleamed. Once slipped on, despite making walking considerably more challenging, they visually elongated my leg proportions to an incredible degree.

Regarding props, the katana in hand was coordinated specifically for this look, featuring a slender silver blade, a hilt wrapped in white diamond-patterned tsuka-ito, and a long white tassel hanging from the pommel. The gleaming silver blade and all-black outfit formed a sharp chromatic contrast. For the wig, I selected a white bob with blunt-trimmed bangs. As for makeup, to recreate the character's signature demeanor, the eye area was prepped with light base tones paired with reddish-pink colored contact lenses. Without excessive vibrant colors, the makeup focused on sharpening the brows and eyes, while subtle blush and soft pink lip gloss infused the austere coolness with that distinctive bridal softness.

On the convention floor, to capture dynamic shots from diverse angles, I transitioned through standing, single-knee kneeling, and full kneeling postures. When standing while holding the blade, dropping the shoulders and engaging the arms held the blade steadily across my chest, while keeping my back straight conveyed the commanding presence of both katana and boots. In the kneeling positions, keeping my center of gravity low and calibrating the angle of my legs ensured the black stockings' lines were fully showcased to the lens without heavily creasing the skirt hem. The venue's gray concrete floor interacted brilliantly with the overhead circular hall lights, which the photographer harnessed to create a gorgeous dialogue of reflections between the glossy boots and the ground. Each swing of the sword and adjustment of the tassel required disciplined force, as the tassel easily tangled around the hilt, demanding continuous micro-adjustments to drape naturally in frame.

Overall, while retaining 2B's innate lethal edge, this Bride concept introduces abundant grace through lace, sheer tulle, and layered skirts. The rugged hardness of patent leather boots combined with the airy lightness of sheer fabrics felt exceptionally substantial to wear. Harmonizing makeup, styling, wardrobe, and props through continuous trial and error is truly what makes convention photography such an exhilarating journey.
