[Yixuan cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Agent: Expressing a Chilly Style Through Exhibition Photography Light and Shadow

The inspiration for this photoshoot stems from my deep understanding of the character Yixuan from Zenless Zone Zero. To fit her mysterious, capable, and uniquely atmospheric agent persona, we spent a whole week refining details in costume preparation, hair, and makeup for this Yixuan cosplay.

First, in terms of costume recreation, I specifically selected this glossy black leather cropped jacket; its texture and specular reflections look exceptional on camera. Although the leather is relatively stiff and restricts arm flexibility, I made fine adjustments while wearing it to ensure the shoulder and waistlines fit the character design faithfully. The white inner collar and blue neck accessories brighten up the predominantly black outfit. The lower half's multi-layered white pleated mini-skirt, combined with translucent printed fabric, adds an airy, flowing grace while maintaining a crisp silhouette.

For the wig, long straight silver-white hair is Yixuan's signature visual marker. I repeatedly compared the sheen and natural flow of the strands before settling on this smooth, lustrous wig for this Silver hair cosplay, embellished with vintage-style black mini hair accessories across the forehead. Along with the custom pointed elf ear props, putting them on instantly immersed me into character, capturing that otherworldly, non-routine aura.

For this shoot, the venue chosen was a large indoor convention center, where towering metallic trusses and expansive depth created an immense sense of space for Exhibition photography. To break away from conventional standing poses, I deliberately chose to sit on a metallic photographer's stepladder. This seemingly simple pose was quite demanding on core strength, particularly maintaining balance on the rungs while holding an upright, elegant posture. The photographer used a low-angle perspective which, combined with the ladder's height, maximized the visual elongation of my leg lines. Under this low angle, paired with High heels and black stockings styling elements and glossy black heels, that chilly, confident, and subtly proud demeanor was naturally amplified. The natural light filtering in from the left window converged beautifully with the ceiling lights, outlining my silver hair and leather jacket with rim light—a layer of light and shadow rarely achieved in indoor Exhibition photography.

The shooting day was actually quite exhausting; intense lighting paired with a heavy leather jacket made me sweat considerably. But every time I saw the frames appearing on the monitor—especially how Yixuan's aloof, independent, and highly skilled state became distinct in this vast setting—it felt completely worthwhile. How to inject dynamic tension into a static sitting pose and how to capture the character's inner emotion through the eyes became recurring topics between the photography team and me during breaks. This photo set serves as a mature and comprehensive visual expression of the character's image.
