[Artoria Pendragon Cosplay] Fate & Zenless Zone Zero at ChinaJoy: Marathon of Multiple Lineups

Running across convention booths for several consecutive days at ChinaJoy meant nonstop outfit changes and makeup touch-ups, but seeing the official photography results made every bit of effort worthwhile. My roster this time included Zenless Zone Zero's Belle and Ellen, Fate's Artoria Pendragon, alongside a few other character crossovers with friends, keeping the schedule packed to the brim.

Starting with Zenless Zone Zero's Belle: the combination of an orange vest over a black turtleneck, paired with bright cyan-blue short hair and orange drop earrings, delivered an authentic street techwear aesthetic. The off-white square gadget hanging at my hip in Photos 1 and 2 was actually kitbashed using lightweight clay and recycled spare parts, with the side coiled telephone wire and plush charm adding rich tactical details. The on-site photographer captured moments of me crossing my arms and looking back with a smile, where the circular red neon strip in the background complemented the wig hue perfectly. Ellen's look provided an even sharper contrast: in Photos 8 and 10, her short black hair with pink dipped tips, yellow goggles, black cropped tank, and denim shorts were paired with thigh straps and white platform sneakers to lengthen proportions. The massive black-and-red heavy firearm prop in Photo 10 was exceedingly heavy, demanding core strength to stabilize during poses, and perching on the motorbike plastered with pink typography in Photo 8 brought out that cool, rebellious edge to the fullest.

Transitioning to Artoria Pendragon, I spent considerable time refining the details of the black-and-blue dress for Photos 5 and 9. The abundant ruffles and glossy textures held up exquisitely under exhibition spotlights, paired with long black gloves and Black stockings. The seated profile pose showcasing leg contours in Photo 5 required the most coordination with the photographer, as finding a composition amidst intricate skirt folds that balanced garment details with body silhouettes was no easy feat. In Photo 6 as Krul, pink hair paired with black pointed ears while seated sideways on a red motorcycle created intense visual punch with the black-and-red dress. Photo 3 featured Verina—silver hair, elf ears, and a deep navy gown, exploring angles before white chairs and lush greenery. Photo 4's maid look at the Sony booth introduced white utility straps and fishnets, while Photo 7's Chinese Lolita headdress and staff were truly heavy-duty masterpieces, with the circular jade disc frame suspended behind drawing quite a crowd at the venue.

Cosplaying on-site at major conventions tests both stamina and gear maintenance. Although the convention halls were well air-conditioned, posing under intense stage spotlights for hours easily melts makeup and dishevels wigs. I made a habit of using setting spray and blotting papers during every shoot break, while constantly inspecting my stockings for snags and the prop weaponry for chipped paint. Sharing the stage with Changpu, Xie Anran, and many other phenomenal cosplayers to feel everyone's unadulterated passion for ACG culture was truly joyous. Reviewing these finished photos makes the exhaustion of pulling all-nighters at the hotel to finish props and waking up before dawn for makeup vanish completely.
