As the main person responsible for hair, makeup, styling, and modeling, I'd like to share the journey of transforming this 2D industrial aesthetic into real-life visuals.

Let's start with the core gear: this massive circular saw blade weapon is without a doubt the soul of the entire look. To faithfully recreate Corin's signature weapon as a Chainsaw Maid, from choosing high-density EVA foam to testing internal skeletal framing, we went through repeated rounds of sanding and refinement. As seen in the photos, this saw not only features color-separated paintwork, but every green mechanical arm joint and iconic saw tooth was painstakingly replicated. The realistic heft in hand provided authentic feedback, lending palpable intimidation factor to the shoot—no forced acting was needed; simply wielding this beast made me feel every bit like the Chainsaw Maid.

For our first set, we used an ultra-low upward angle to capture the dynamic power of the weapon and character; this low angle beautifully elongated leg lines, highlighting the black biker boots, while light filtering through steel gaps cast sharp, chiseled shadows across the face during this Shougang Park photography session.

For dynamic action shots—such as balancing on one leg while making broad sweeping swings with the chainsaw—prop balance was essential. Because the boot soles were quite rigid, standing steady, holding challenging postures, and managing facial expressions simultaneously on Shougang Park's uneven terrain of gravel and tracks was a true test of physical coordination.
