[Shiroko Cosplay] Blue Archive, A Refreshing Afternoon in the Gym Storage Room

Walking into this sun-drenched gymnasium equipment room, before my eyes are stacks of blue-and-yellow volleyballs and black-and-white soccer balls, with a few yellow traffic cones scattered nearby. Changing into this blue-and-white sports T-shirt and black shorts, paired with the iconic white mid-calf socks, it feels as if I have truly become that sports-loving Shiroko who ran out of the Blue Archive game. This shoot was well-prepared, and the primary task was to recreate that clean, crisp, and slightly cool athletic anime girl vibe.

Regarding the hair and makeup this time, the white straight hair with straight bangs, paired with the blue-and-white animal ears and the cross-shaped blue halo, props up the overall silhouette very refreshingly. To make the animal ears look natural and unforced, we made very precise adjustments during the attachment, trying our best to avoid harsh seam lines. For the makeup, we discarded heavy colors and tried to maintain a translucent, natural skin state, focusing the emphasis on the color accents of the eye makeup. The pink shimmering eyeshadow made the gaze look more dynamic. When putting on that pair of thick gray plush animal paw gloves, I felt like my overall defense level had gone up, completely entering the character's zone.

The shooting location was the storage area of an indoor gymnasium, an environment that perfectly aligns with the character's daily activity tracks, making the shoot exceptionally immersive. As I sat in the metal mesh bin filled with balls, sunlight sloped down through the indoor windows, forming crisp and sharp shadows on the light-colored wooden floor. That interplay of light and shadow instantly elevated the texture and dimensionality of the photos. The photographer also captured many different angles this time, switching between high and low angles, letting me try out different poses. Sometimes I leaned against the blue sports bench, sometimes I lay across a massive gray textured yoga ball, and sometimes I even climbed directly into the metal cage to hang out with all the balls.

During the shoot, I needed to constantly adjust my expressions and body movements, wanting to express Shiroko's gap moe—usually looking a bit quiet or even expressionless, but becoming incredibly vivid and cute when encountering familiar things or sports. For instance, resting my chin on one hand, looking up at the camera, lightly grasping the metal railings, or sitting with my legs curled up; every seemingly casual movement took repeated attempts to find the most natural angle that best matched the character's soul. Don't be fooled by how casual these sports clothes look; maintaining a comfortable yet good-looking angle is not easy at all, especially crouching in the ball basket or lying on the crossbars for a long time, which was quite a physical test. Fortunately, the photographer deeply understood the character's tone and continuously guided me to find my best state, making the entire shoot both challenging and highly enjoyable.

The blue-and-white color scheme itself is a perfect match for summer. Paired with a comfortable sports outfit, the photos taken in such a scene look instantly refreshing. In fact, cosplay is not just about wearing beautiful clothes, but also the joy of stepping out of daily routine and immersing oneself into another character's mood to experience casual cosplay. Dressing up as a beloved character and placing oneself in their exclusive atmosphere—even if it's just simply sitting on the floor or staying with a pile of balls—provides a highly fulfilling mental satisfaction. I hope these moments recorded in the bright equipment room can convey that relaxed, clean, and athletically-infused beautiful feeling.
