This time I shot Yuyuko Cosplay from Touhou Project. After getting the clothes, I carefully studied the wearing order for a long time. This Lolita dress is dominated by light blue and light pink, with the outer layer being jacquard fabric with a silvery-gray luster, and lined with a large amount of white lace and tulle. The high-waisted design paired with the wide straps on the back can naturally support the fluffiness of the skirt hem. The neckline and wide cuffs are sewn with multi-layered ruffles; to maintain the drape and three-dimensional feel, it needs to be repeatedly adjusted when wearing. The wig was trimmed into a pink short hair bob, with the hair ends given an inward-curled treatment, and the blunt bangs trimmed to eyebrow level. The headpiece is the focus of this styling; the multi-layered pleated lace edge matches the blue and pink ribbons. Because the styling is relatively tall, it requires several bobby pins to fix it on the head so that it won't shake easily.
The folding fan in hand is the finishing touch of the entire styling. The half-face-covering posture can well match the composition of the mirror selfie. Mirror selfie actually tests angles a lot; the camera lens needs to be tilted down slightly, and the phone should be kept slightly above the chest, which can capture the complete layers of the skirt while also lengthening the leg lines. The room lighting is warm, very suitable for showing the texture of the soft colors of this outfit. I wore a pair of platform shoes with complex strap designs, which can not only increase the height proportion, but also echo the complex Lolita dress style, preventing the overall center of gravity from looking too floating.
This time, I didn't choose overly complex makeup, focusing instead on wig trimming and the coordination of the overall styling. The character Yuyuko carries a quiet and somewhat elusive temperament in the setting, so I tried to maintain a dignified posture when taking pictures. The opening and closing of the folding fan represent different emotional states. Although mirror selfies look easy, to find a good pose, it often requires repeatedly adjusting the orientation of the shoulders and the position of the center of gravity. Holding the phone with one arm while managing the opening and closing of the fan actually makes my arms quite sore after shooting a set. From the smoothness of the clothing to the layers of the hairstyle, every detail needs careful grooming to present a satisfactory effect. The color scheme of this outfit will present different layers under the lights; the light blue fabric will have slight shade differences with the changes in light, so during shooting, I also deliberately adjusted my standing position to let the light better hit these laces and jacquard fabrics, enriching the details of the picture.
