[Marisa Kirisame cosplay] Visiting the Xiamen Touhou Project Lawson collaboration Store

As soon as the Anime convention wrapped up and we packed our gear, I hailed a cab straight to this Lawson collaboration store in Xiamen. Seeing the character standees at the entrance instantly melted away most of the day's fatigue. For this Marisa Kirisame cosplay, to faithfully recreate the character design, the witch hat was crafted in an exaggeratedly large volume. The internal frame and support took considerable effort; with the head's center of gravity shifted forward, I had to stay constantly mindful of neck balance when posing to avoid tipping over. The dress has numerous layers—between the tight cinch of the corset and the sheer weight of the voluminous skirt, walking was quite a workout, and because the hat was so massive, turning carelessly risked bumping into the entrance door or store shelves.

Stepping inside, my eyes were immediately drawn to the window posters. Paired with the indoor lighting, the photo results turned out unexpectedly well. I especially recommend the small plush doll—it has a great, solid feel in hand, serving as a cute photography prop that paired perfectly with the acrylic standees and badge sets shown in Photo 3, which featured crisp printing and high-quality materials. Although the store isn't large, the collaboration elements are densely packed; both the window decals and hanging decorations made great backdrops. The store lighting leaned toward cooler tones, harmonizing with Marisa's original aesthetic.

The shoot went smoothly—aside from the giant hat occasionally blocking my vision, everything was easy to control. The store staff members were very welcoming and never minded us taking photos as long as we didn't interrupt daily business. Because the skirt is long and poofy, my legs and stockings were almost entirely concealed, meaning the entire silhouette had to be conveyed through upper-body poses. Having worn this costume for most of the day at the convention, the lack of breathability left me sweating quite a bit inside, but straightening my bow tie instantly revived my energy.

The neatly lined-up character standees outside looked magnificent. Stepping out for the shot in Photo 5 under stronger outdoor light, I made sure to manage my expression to avoid squinting. Looking at the massive poster and standees and comparing them to my own outfit, that sensation of breaking the fourth wall felt truly magical, making every bit of effort poured into this costume worth it. Smoothing out the lace along my collar and the gem brooch on my chest while standing before that grand poster, I truly felt fully immersed in the character. The hum of the refrigerated display cases blending with traffic outside, paired with the substantial heft of this outfit, made every shutter click feel deeply satisfying, bringing a wonderful close to this Anime convention adventure.
