[Genshin Impact Cosplay] Photos of My Dreamy White and Blue Dress: It Feels So Good to Dress Up as a Beloved Character

Sharing these convention photos! I took two sets of shots that turned out to have quite interesting perspectives. One is an action snapshot captured mid-jump, and the other is a static shot sitting on the floor with a white plush mat. These two different visual presentations serve as a complete record of this cosplay.

The texture of this outfit actually relies heavily on the lighting. The main fabric is made of a highly breathable, semi-transparent material, combined with white lace patchwork on the inner layer and delicate ruffled details along the edges. It feels much lighter to wear than it looks. For the wig, I chose a low-saturation light blue-violet shade styled with bows and lace; once the hair accessories were added, the visual weight of the head area was well-balanced. Speaking of this styling, the most praiseworthy elements are definitely the leg warmers/garters and the white platform heels. The white over-the-knee socks paired with the leg ring design not only beautifully streamlined my legs but also naturally elongated them in front of the camera. This created a wonderfully harmonious flow between the leg lines and the fluttering skirt, especially during the jump in the first photo.

Let's talk about the shoes. The first photo features extremely high-platform white heels, which kept me stable during active movements while stretching my proportions. For the second photo, to make posing on the floor easier, I switched to white flat shoes adorned with bows, which were much more comfortable and felt more relaxed and less aggressive. Cosplay photography is truly all about the details; everything from small elements like the necklace and the lace collar edges to large aspects like the water-ripple gradient of the skirt has to be adjusted repeatedly during fitting and shooting. To create that flowing, ethereal look, this skirt was designed to be very wide with several inner layers of support, allowing it to bloom fully like a flower when I jumped in the first shot, giving the lens a strong visual impact.

As for my experience at the convention—even though the venue leaned towards an industrial style, the dark-toned background actually made the white and blue outfit stand out even more. The shooting process was highly entertaining. For the action shot, I had to jump repeatedly to catch the right timing; for the seated shot, I had to carefully spread out the skirt into a fan shape within a limited floor space. When it comes to photography, the most crucial part isn't how high-end your equipment is, but whether you can immerse yourself in the character's state. When you truly wear this outfit and stand in front of the camera, you naturally want to present a posture and expression that match the garment's temperament—even in a cold, tiled corner, you can carry the entire atmosphere on your own.

Looking back at the whole shoot, the most interesting part was discovering different visual possibilities within a restricted environment. The first shot used a low-angle perspective, perfectly integrating the platform heels, the white leg rings, and the soaring motion of the skirt to highlight the outfit's layered structure. The second shot leveled the camera, laying down a small white rug on the spot and utilizing twists in my posture to showcase the dress's drape and the lace details at the collar. This contrast between motion and stillness perfectly reflects the temperament of this outfit—possessing both visual impact and detailed corners to appreciate quietly. Doing cosplay is a physical expression of love itself; from selecting materials, pattern-making, and fitting, to finally working with the photographer to get the ideal shots, every single step is filled with joy.

My mindset towards cosplaying has been changing lately. Rather than chasing a 100% replica, I care more about whether the vibe I show in front of the camera is natural and comfortable. Whether it's the tension of the jump or the lazy, casual feeling of sitting on the floor, as long as it's a genuine expression, it makes the best record. This dreamy white and blue dress has a very refreshing vibe, like an everyday look with a touch of fantasy. While it might be a bit dramatic for daily wear, this color combination is incredibly photogenic at conventions or in a studio. Given the chance to find the right lighting in the future, I should be able to capture even more photos in different styles.
