The moment the bow draws across the strings, it seems even the surrounding light begins to flow with the melody. This attempt to recreate Phrolova's unique temperament in Wuthering Waves focuses not just on the costume and wig details, but also seeks to capture that sense of serenity that drifts outside of combat. The overlapping tailoring of white and red, combined with leather straps and a dark skirt, maintains the character's original design while accounting for the dynamism of on-location shooting.
The cyan gradient of the wig is treated very naturally, with the curves of the bangs and sideburns framing the face perfectly. Paired with slightly downturned eye makeup, it brings a touch of aloofness to the expression that says she doesn't want to be disturbed. The violin is the key prop this time. Although a real violin performance wasn't required during the shoot, the posture for holding the bow and the angle of the violin body were adjusted repeatedly to find the most visually relaxed state. The photographer used a gold thread effect to materialize the invisible sound waves, and those swirling lines added a dreamlike layer of texture to the image.
The lighting at the shoot location was quite dark, so the photographer deliberately adjusted the side-backlighting angle to let a faint halo peek through the edges of the hair strands, while avoiding harsh shadows on the face. The post-processing retained the real texture of the skin without excessive smoothing, making the person's overall state look closer to a real-life performer. From styling to lighting, and then to movement design, every shutter click was an exploration of the character's inner emotions. Phrolova's silence and aloofness are actually quite interesting; she doesn't rely on words but instead conveys messages through her actions and gazes. This cosplay experience has given me a deeper understanding of this character. Compared to the bustling streets, perhaps the late-night stage is where she truly belongs for this cosplay photography project.
