This time, I'm bringing you an Anthropomorphic cosplay of Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony. When conceptualizing this setup, my primary consideration was how to translate the pony form's "Sonic Rainboom" and sense of speed into a fashion language for a human body shape.

For the top, I specially chose this rainbow-striped crop camisole with a blue base, which perfectly echoes the colors of Rainbow Dash's rainbow mane. These rainbow knit arm sleeves are the finishing touch of the entire look; they not only visually elongate the arm lines but also add layers to the street sports style. For the lower body, I paired a denim miniskirt with detachable flared pant legs that feature a drawstring design. This style of pants not only has a strong sense of design but also generates a casual sense of rhythm during running and jumping movements, fitting the Skateboard girl setting beautifully.

Restoring the wig was the top priority of this cosplay. To achieve this high-saturation gradient rainbow look through highlights, it required not only multi-colored dyes but also precise control over the transitions and blending between colors to present a natural luster. In terms of makeup, to reflect Rainbow Dash's determined and slightly tsundere personality, I used a thick, winged eyeliner paired with light gold colored contacts to highlight the sharpness in her gaze. The goggles on top of the head are the iconic symbol of this character; although they can't actually be used for flying like in the anime, they reinforce the character setting beautifully in the styling.

The skateboard was an important prop for this shoot, which I view as a materialized metaphor for "flying" in the pony form. To coordinate with the main rainbow theme, I specially chose a board with warm-toned graphics. During the shoot, whether standing the skateboard vertically next to my feet or half-sitting on the steps to present a relaxed posture, it made the narrative feel of the frame much stronger.

This shoot was mainly set in a mixed indoor-outdoor space with an industrial style. The thick white pillars, concrete steps, and green metal benches formed a collision of warm/cool tones and materials with the rainbow outfit. The photographer leaned towards using a wide-angle lens paired with low angles for composition, a perspective that gives physical movements more tension and dynamism. In the composition of the second photo, my action of extending one hand forward and making a gesture not only broke the original flat feel of the frame but also naturally guided the viewer's line of sight.

Anthropomorphizing an animated character is not just about putting on similar clothes, but rather about capturing the character's inner soul. Rainbow Dash's "loyalty" and "sense of speed," through this rainbow outfit and sharp body language, have hopefully been delivered. Throughout the shooting process, repeatedly adjusting positions and expressions consumed quite a bit of physical energy, but seeing the bright colors and clean style in the final photos from this Anime-style photography session made all the effort feel completely worth it.
