[Yunli cosplay] The Sword-Obsessed Girl of Honkai: Star Rail, Candied Hawthorns Bring Good Luck

This time, I tried out the complete styling for Yunli, putting a lot of thought into everything from wig trimming to matching costume accessories. Although that iconic greatsword prop is made of lightweight material, it still carries quite some weight in my hand; to keep the posture steady during the shoot, my arm muscles were completely tensed up, haha. I especially love the design of this black mirror platform with its Specular reflection effect. Combined with the red silk ribbons and the vintage wooden cabinet backdrop, it adds a touch of martial arts flair to the entire frame.

For the makeup, the focus was on recreating Yunli's proud yet slightly childish expression. Warm tones were chosen for the eyeshadow and lip color, which, paired with the golden headpieces and the gem embellishments on the chest, significantly elevated the overall texture. As for the candied hawthorn in my mouth, it was actually a real candied hawthorn prop! To prevent it from melting during the shoot, I specially chose a hard-candy version, and it was truly crunchy when biting into it. I tried out multiple angles during the process, and this candid snapshot of me sitting and munching on the candied hawthorns is my favorite. My gaze and posture are relaxed and natural, which carries much more of a narrative than simple, rigid poses that end up as wasted shots.

The fabric of the costume utilizes patterned velvet and matte leather. The gradient blue-purple cuffs and the traditional cloud patterns on the skirt hem underwent multiple pattern-making sessions, making it quite convenient to move around once worn. The entire set building took nearly three hours just to recreate that antique atmosphere. I hope the sincerity of this Cosplay photography session, complete with these traditional Chinese style props, can be delivered right through the screen.
