[Phainon cosplay] Star-patterned armor and Dawn Greatsword, recreating Phainon bearing the weight of the entire world

The physical weight of the Star-patterned armor and the Dawn Greatsword truly pressed down on my shoulders the moment I put them on. To recreate Phainon's equipment, it took nearly half a month from pattern-making to final coloring. The outer robe chose a white fabric with a slight pearlescent sheen, creating a subtle reflection under natural light so it wouldn't look monotonous. The blue parts used a velvet-textured fabric, paired with gold geometric edging, giving it a strong drape when moving. The star-patterned metal pieces on the chest and shoulders were the focus; after polishing EVA foam, they were painted with gold and champagne metal paints, with the edges weathered in dark tones to make the armor look like it had battle scars rather than a brand-new plastic feel.
The blade of the Dawn Greatsword is nearly 1.5 meters long, and the golden star structure on the hilt is very complex. To reduce the burden of holding it for a long time, a lightweight internal skeleton was built, but the overall weight is still not light. When shooting the photo pointing the sword at the lens (picture two), holding it with one hand was really a bit strenuous, but fortunately, the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the foreground, resulting in an extremely oppressive effect where the visual focus is entirely concentrated on the face and gaze.
The wig required a lot of hair gel and styling spray to create tufted, sharp looks. The eye makeup used grey-blue circle lenses to deepen the contours, and the lip color was kept as pale as possible to highlight the character's cold and exhausted tone. It was very windy on the day of the shoot, which caused the cape to wrap around my face several times, but a few captured side-glance shots produced great dynamics due to the wind's resistance. This time the location was chosen in a semi-outdoor area with a canopy, utilizing the shadows under the overpass and the natural light in the distance to create a contrast, and the light-and-shadow transition in the final photos is very natural.
The post description mentions carrying all the suffering of the world alone. While preparing this cosplay, I kept pondering how to express this heaviness through body language. Finally, I decided to reduce large-scale movements, using low-center-of-gravity standing and kneeling postures more often, keeping my expression as blank as possible in front of the lens, and containing all emotions within slightly furrowed brows and the tightly gripped sword hilt. The two-handed sword-holding pose in picture four is meant to express a combination of self-defense and confrontation with external pressure.
Outdoor location shoots for armor-type characters consume a huge amount of physical energy, especially when holding heavy props, so it is recommended to prepare water and a small fan when shooting similar characters, resting a bit after each set of actions to ensure a good facial state in subsequent photos. Cleaning the floating dust off the props, combing out the wig, and putting it back into the hairnet—the shoot for Phainon's Star-patterned armor and Dawn Greatsword comes to a temporary close.
