For this Arknights La Pluma Swimsuit cosplay project, we specifically constructed a set inside the studio immersed in a vibrant summer beach atmosphere. To complement the character's innate aloof coolness while delivering the crisp, airy ease of a summer theme, the wardrobe paired a white bikini with an oversized pale blue loose-fit cover-up shirt. In terms of hair styling, the short dark-blue hair was adorned with feather hair accessories and a small yellow blossom, preserving her core hallmarks while introducing a playful holiday flair. For makeup, a delicate reddish wash blended around the eye contours paired with a natural, dewy base layer to project an effortless, relaxed state before the lens.

Setting up the scene required immense thought. Highly reflective materials were laid across the studio floor to emulate a glistening water surface; during actual shooting, this placed rigorous demands on lighting angles and camera placement. The slightest oversight could catch the photographer's reflection or reflector edges in the frame, demanding meticulous camera positioning. The background featured a pink-and-blue surfboard, towering faux palm trees, and a pink shopping cart brimming with fresh blooms. On the wooden table, stacks of vintage books, sunflowers, and a golden gramophone enriched the compositional depth. Swimming goggles resting around the neck and an employee badge clipped to the chest prevented the styling from feeling sparse, adding a playful touch as if the character were on vacation or carrying out a field assignment.

The shooting process was remarkably engaging. Perching atop the blue-and-white inflatable swim ring made balancing quite challenging; I had to continuously lock my core so the pose appeared breezy and effortless. The handheld Polaroid camera served as a wonderful interactive prop—holding up printed snapshots or pretending to aim at the lens effortlessly eased any stiff camera stares. In the shots where I sat cross-legged on the water surface with bare soles touching the reflective material directly, the cool tactile sensation made relaxing much more natural. The black ankle straps and dedicated foot close-ups were deliberately designed details that amplified the visual impact of this Summer Film.

La Pluma inherently possesses a calm, sharp demeanor; in her swimwear look, I sought to preserve that grounded personality while channeling summer's distinctive languid freshness. The advantage of studio photography is absolute lighting control, avoiding squinting under harsh outdoor sunlight or dealing with unflattering, heavy shadows—though the trade-off was constantly adjusting postures to harmonize with floor reflections. From wig grooming and costume adjustments to the deliberate placement of every prop, this set went through repeated fine-tuning, striving to ensure the entire presentation looked both exquisite and completely organic.
