[Angelina the Mellow Wish cosplay] Arknights journey also tastes like orange

Walking around this reservoir and shallows, I finally caught the best warm light at sunset. After changing into this Angelina the Mellow Wish cosplay gear, I felt completely wrapped in the character's magnetic field, perfectly matching the line "the journey also tastes like orange" in the post description.

Let's first talk about the craftsmanship and texture of this costume. The wig chose a reddish-orange color, styled into signature twin tails, complemented by animal ear hair accessories and a geometrically textured headband on top. Though slightly ruffled by the wind during the shoot, it actually added a touch of realism to the wilderness trek. The rigid tactical collar around the neck and the black-and-red buckle details on the shoulders are exceptionally solid. The form-fitting waist-cinching top paired with an irregularly cut white skirt hem, along with metal badges and various tactical pouches hanging from the black tactical belt, give the overall look a combat-ready aura while remaining cute. The detachable wide arm sleeves and black leather gloves look beautiful in the light-and-shadow transitions under the setting sun. To align with the character setting, I specially paired black thigh-high stockings, thigh straps with blue geometric symbols, ankle rings, and those heavy black platform motorcycle boots; walking in shallows and grass felt substantial and looked great on camera.

Next, let me share about the shooting environment and little episodes during the process. This selected outdoor location was very open: nearby were slightly dried-up shallows with a surface as smooth as a mirror, while in the distance were rolling green hills and neatly arranged white big windmills. The reflection photo in Picture 4 was truly a delightful surprise—the water surface not only perfectly reflected my posture, but also captured the sunset glow and windmill silhouettes in the background. But honestly, doing Outdoor cosplay photography in such an open area meant the wind was really strong; that heavy long-handled prop featuring a red-and-black color scheme and mechanical hollowed-out structure was almost blown over several times. Striking a composed pose while holding it firmly really required some "core strength." Luckily, the photographer was very keen at capturing light, snatching the metallic texture and rim lighting of the prop under side-backlight.

When deciding to shoot this set, I wanted to capture that "on the road" feeling. It so happened that the sunset glow that day was extraordinarily brilliant, with golden-orange light spilling onto the water surface, harmonizing beautifully with the orange-red elements on Angelina. From tossing receipts on the grass (Photo 1), leaning against the door of a red off-road vehicle (Photo 3), standing in front of the reflection on the water (Photo 4, Photo 6), to Windmill scenery shooting with the sky at a tilted angle (Photo 5)—every shot feels like a snippet pulled straight out of in-game CG. I believe cosplay is not just putting on clothes to restore a character, but an experience of immersing oneself into that worldview; even if just for a short afternoon, it feels like participating in a journey full of orange flavor. The final lighting and shadow effects far exceeded expectations, with garment texture reflections naturally blending into the surrounding natural scenery, making this set one of my most satisfying recent outdoor creations, far more dynamic than a standard Convention photoshoot.
