I happened to snap this picture on location! The "feeding the rice pot" in the title was just clickbait—in reality, the fox spirit in the photo is me! Attending the Fate/Grand Order 10th Anniversary offline FES event and strolling around the plaza at night in this Anime convention outfit felt truly unique.
Let's first talk about the costume design. Structurally, this outfit adopts a bold off-the-shoulder and deep V-neck cut, with royal blue as the primary color paired with crisp white trimmed lines, giving a refreshing yet luxurious visual impression. The black leather belt at the waist, featuring a gold-rimmed ring buckle element, cinches the waist nicely to highlight the waistline. The wide sleeves drape down gracefully, and the skirt hem features black fabric patchwork on both sides printed with golden wave and streamlined patterns that shimmer subtly under night lights. Most distinctive is the high slit on the right side; paired with semi-transparent deep blue thigh-high stockings (a nod to Black stockings cosplay aesthetics), it delivers great layering and sleekness. The matching thick-soled black thong geta wooden clogs fulfilled the character design while unexpectedly providing great grip when running around the venue.
For the hair and head accessories, I chose vibrant pink long straight hair styled into fluffy twintails, with the hair ends casually cascading over my shoulders. On my head, a pair of giant orange-and-white fluffy beast ears were extremely eye-catching; to recreate the character's lively vibe, the inner ear canals were made with fluffy fur textures that naturally swayed in the night breeze. I put quite some thought into makeup—drawing richer eye makeup paired with pink colored contacts and slightly winged eyeliner to make my eyes look vivid and sly. A thin black choker around my neck served as an accent, nicely bridging the space between my neck and the off-shoulder area to concentrate visual focus on the neck and shoulder lines.
The shooting location was an outdoor plaza, featuring a giant game promotional screen and a white abstract sculpture in the background. The plaza was paved with gray square ground tiles with just the right reflectivity, so diffused lights falling on me didn't look overly harsh. During the shoot, I tried to relax my body, placing my weight evenly on both legs while making peace signs naturally with both hands—my favorite signature pose that conveys a relaxed and lively mood. My leg lines appeared elongated under the thigh-high stockings, and the combination of the high slit and platform geta created spatial depth against the ground, making these Anime convention photos perfect for showcasing body proportions.
The offline event atmosphere that day was fantastic! Although temperatures dropped at night, being surrounded by fellow fans and convention attendees created a strong sense of shared resonance during conversations. Walking around the venue, I could feel the outfit's colors offering high visibility under evening lights. I tried my best to stay focused, channeling the character's innate confidence and pride. The decision to shoot at night was because the commercial plaza's cool-toned light sources combined with the bright fluorescent screen fit Tamamo no Mae's mysterious and gorgeous color palette wonderfully. Not adding heavy post-processing filters preserved the authentic atmosphere of real Anime convention photos. Nothing brings more joy than wearing a meticulously prepared outfit and capturing real memories at the event site.
