[Hoshimachi Suisei cosplay] Azure-Haired Starry Magical Girl: Comic Convention Photos Record

Today, I want to share this series of Hoshimachi Suisei cosplay snapshots captured inside the Anyc convention hall. The overarching azure-and-white color palette and starry sky motifs are among my absolute favorite aesthetics, so significant groundwork went into polishing the details. For the wig, I selected a vibrant cerulean short cut styled with gentle waves, carefully trimming the bangs and face-framing temple locks. Paired with bright blue circle lenses, it beautifully brought out that distinct anime charm.

The costume features rich, complex layering. The bodice is tailored with white and deep navy color-blocking, complemented by an exquisitely crafted necktie, golden tassels, and star-shaped accents. The skirt showcases a striking gradient transitioning from midnight blue to purplish pink, dotted with white star constellations that create the illusion of a flowing galaxy when moving or spinning. The semi-translucent blue-violet cape trailing behind is another centerpiece of the silhouette, sprinkled with star prints as well. To make the cape billow dynamically before the lens, I practiced numerous leaps and arm extensions, which resulted in wonderfully spirited action shots.

The lower styling also received careful consideration: a flared white petticoat skirt paired with dark navy strapped leg garters, grounded by white-and-blue platform high-heeled sandals adorned with golden chain details. Because of the heel height and the demanding poses involving one-legged balances and dynamic jumps, walking the convention floor all day was a test of endurance. Still, seeing the final photos flawlessly capture the leg lines and footwear details made all that effort worthwhile.

Lighting inside the exhibition hall was pleasantly bright. When blurred into creamy bokeh, the industrial steel framework and ceiling lights provided an airy, luminous depth to the frame. I deliberately coordinated varied poses—lifting one leg while pointing skyward or leaning forward while brandishing the magical wand—to break away from rigid, static stances and inject kinetic storytelling. The magical wand prop was custom-matched as well, its blue-and-gold finish resonating seamlessly with the overall design.

Every cosplay outing is an ongoing journey of trial and refinement, from initial garment tailoring and wig styling to on-site pacing and pose execution. Being able to capture such satisfying convention photos is all thanks to the photographer's quick shutter timing and lighting control, which made the most of the convention environment. Suisei's persona naturally radiates boundless vitality, and I hope these photos convey that sparkling energy. I look forward to exploring more eclectic styles in the future.
