[Changli Cosplay] Stepping into a Wash-Painting Poem in Wuthering Waves: Today's Elegance and Heroic Grace

Preparing and completing this [Changli Cosplay] Cosplay photoshoot actually took a lot of effort and thought.

To suit the character's disposition, we specifically set up the scene with solid wood carved window frames and folding screens, combined with bamboo slips, scrolls, a Go board, and artfully scattered red maple leaves, aiming to accentuate the refined elegance of a traditional Chinese study. The selection of props was also carefully deliberated; for instance, the oil-paper umbrella adorned with orange patterns, along with the blue-and-white porcelain vase, wooden brush rack, and standing bird-shaped craft piece featured in the frames—these small items enriched the storytelling quality of the images.

Speaking of the costume, the detail fidelity of this cosplay outfit is very high. The top consists primarily of white paired with black crisscross straps, while the metal buckles and cutout decorations around the shoulders and neck add visual depth, complementing the striking orange gloves on the arms to create a fantastic color-blocking contrast. As for the hairstyle, the pink-and-white gradient wig paired with exquisite metal flower-and-leaf hair accessories proved extremely helpful in keeping the styling stable during the shoot. I particularly love the black pantyhose paired on the legs in this look, which features star-shaped cutout patterns; combined with the chunky-soled black glossy patent leather high heels, it delivers a powerful visual impact to the feet.

The shooting process was physically demanding. Wearing high heels while striking poses with varying intensity required considerable effort. For instance, the first set of shots featured me sitting at the desk holding a calligraphy brush to write, which required expressing a focused and composed demeanor; then standing up to wield that impressively long orange-red weapon, decorated with intricate patterns and red gemstone inlays, where finding the balance point was essential to project the tension of a combat stance; as well as shots holding the umbrella and lying sideways on the bench reading a scroll—all of these were attempts to capture the character's multi-dimensional charm, equally captivating in motion and tranquility.

Since the shooting environment was dominated by dark wooden furniture, we deliberately chose warm light sources during lighting setups, which better separated my white outfit from the background wood textures. In post-processing, we largely preserved the rich, substantial feel of the original environment without over-smoothing. The folds in the fabric, the grain of the wood, and the subtle color gradients of the maple leaves were kept as authentic to their original appearance as possible.

This set of Chinese-style photography attempted to combine traditional Chinese elements with fantasy costume styles. Through these frames, I hope to convey the unique atmosphere of a character who embodies inner power within serene tranquility. My sincere thanks to all the partners involved in planning and shooting this project—everyone worked together with fantastic chemistry.
