This set of Wuthering Waves Hsin cosplay photoshoot took about half a month from preparation to final delivery. Because the character naturally carries a cool and mysterious temperament, we specifically selected a studio set with bamboo groves and maple leaves, matched with a wooden platform and a Chinese-style bench, striving to recreate that tranquil Eastern fantasy atmosphere.
In terms of makeup, I intentionally intensified the red blending at the outer corners of the eyes this time, pairing it with pink-toned eyeshadow to soften the gaze. For the lips, I selected a natural peach tone to avoid a heavy makeup feel that might distract from the costume's visual center. The red floral totem on the chest was painted using body paint, creating a stark contrast against the fair skin, which is also my favorite detail of this character styling.
The costume was custom-made by Xueshuangfang. Upon receiving it, the first impression was how substantial and solid the materials were. The golden corset part isn't simply reflective cloth, but features fine textures that emit a natural metallic sheen under studio lights. The matching blue-and-white gradient detached sleeves are edged with dark lines, nicely echoing the character's cool color palette. However, getting dressed indeed took quite a while, especially the back lacing and the metal buckles on the chest and waist, which needed to be cinched as tightly as possible to achieve a perfect waist-slimming silhouette. The long gloves on the arms are the key to the entire look; while movement was somewhat restricted, every gesture conveyed the character's elegant sense of detachment.
For the wig, I selected a basic silver-gray wig and trimmed blunt bangs. The Animal ears on the head were the main focus; the plush texture needed to display a gradient effect, so fabric with white inner fur and black tips was specially chosen. To keep the ears standing naturally, wire and bobby pins were used inside to anchor them firmly to the wig net. To enhance refinement, a golden chain forehead ornament with star and red accents was draped across the brow, and the dangling tassel earrings on both sides swayed gently with each movement.
The lighting on the day of the shoot was quite demanding, but thankfully photographer Wahaha controlled the light masterfully. We used softboxes to produce soft diffuse reflection, creating a nice contrast between the golden hue of the costume and the emerald green of the background. In the photos, you can see I tried sitting poses from several angles. The first set of poses emphasized arm extension, gently pinching the fingers, which, combined with the sheer sleeves, gave off a vivid, lively aura. The second set featured crossed legs with hands resting naturally, showcasing High heels and beautiful legs along with overall body curves—particularly the combination of slender high-heeled sandal straps and the legs, visually elongating the proportions.
To enrich the composition, we spread fabric with ink calligraphy and red-black patterns across the bench. The addition of these props added depth and weight to the simple wooden furniture, filling the negative space in the frame. The entire shoot was physically demanding because wearing high heels while flexing leg muscles to maintain crisp lines is tiring, but the moment I saw the finished photos, it all felt completely worthwhile. Hsin's styling is immensely eye-catching in color and design, striking an exact balance between subtle allure and fantastical distance. I hope this presentation allows everyone to appreciate the charm of this costume.
