From pattern drafting to the final photo release, preparing this Qipao look for Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) from Fate/Grand Order took around a month. Because Jalter naturally commands an imposing presence, I deliberately chose a draped black satin fabric with subtle luster, ensuring it would reflect light with richer texture under studio illumination.

First, regarding the headpiece and wig: to capture the character's signature silver-white hair and black headpiece, the wig was cut with short, choppy layers, while keeping a longer section at the back braided into a delicate tail. The tiara/headpiece was crafted from EVA foam and acrylic sheet, sprayed with matte black paint, and accented on both sides with silver metallic serrated tassels. Because the headpiece carried some weight, several bobby pins were needed to anchor it securely to the wig cap, requiring frequent adjustments between takes to keep it from slipping down. For makeup, I deepened the eyes with reddish-brown eyeshadow and wore light amber contact lenses to match her canonical eye color, extending the eyeliner outward to emphasize a sharp, piercing gaze.

I adore the garment details: a black sleeveless modified Qipao with crimson piping along the neckline and side slit. Several heavy metal chains hung across the chest; although I initially worried their weight might pull the neckline out of shape, the garment's structured cut and hidden back snaps ensured a snug, tailored fit. The look was complemented by black leather armbands. To accompany the overall Qipao aesthetic, I wore lace-trimmed Black stockings on the lower half; the high side slit allowed my leg lines to show to great advantage while posing.

The set design on shoot day was remarkably thorough. The background featured dark wooden Chinese antique furniture, a calligraphy scroll on the wall, clusters of white faux blossoms, and a large circular luminous light panel simulating the moon. This cool-toned backdrop with expansive white floral accents formed a stark visual contrast against the black-and-red attire. For lighting, a gentle key light combined with rim backlighting traced out the subject's silhouette, bringing out the crimson trim textures and metallic chain luster cleanly.

For props, I prepared a black folding fan. While posing, I immersed myself in that cool, glamorous, yet slightly dangerous aura. For instance, when sitting on the daybed, keeping the spine straight with shoulders relaxed was essential. When using the fan to half-veil my face, the wrist stayed relaxed while my gaze cut across the fan ribs. The reclining shots tested core strength considerably: lying sideways on a plush rug in stiletto heels meant keeping the midsection engaged while preserving a natural, relaxed expression. The photographer's timing was spot-on, capturing many organic moments.

The overall fusion of Eastern aesthetics and dark elements in this photo set marks a deeply satisfying milestone in my exploration of diverse styles. The garment texture, prop craftsmanship, and environmental atmosphere all lived up to expectations.
