When preparing for this photo set, I kept thinking about what kind of gaze and body language should be used to capture the grand theme of "destiny." The most alluring part of this Truth & Inference Crimson Cosplay look lies in the cool, fateful temperament hidden beneath its gorgeous gothic exterior.

The moment I got the wig, I knew the base makeup this time couldn't be a standard anime style. The fair skin paired with red eyeshadow smudged along the edges, along with the black rhinestone forehead ornament, worked hard to make the facial structure present a non-human, doll-like demeanor. The black velvet top carries its own sheen, and the sleeves were intentionally given fluffy pleated treatments; the smoothness of this material collides with the softness of the white lace ruffles on the apron, instantly highlighting the costume's layering. The sapphire collar at the neckline is the visual focus of this look; the golden base and blue gemstone exude a cold, glamorous luxury, and the moment I put it on, the character's composure and arrogance felt as if they were attached to my body.

The indoor set for this shoot was selected at a study corner filled with an old-school vintage atmosphere. The old-fashioned bronze-base desk lamp, the intricate floral tablecloth, and the European-style purple velvet sofa all fit flawlessly with the character's gothic style. To create a sense of destiny, we brought in many half-real, half-fake white flowers. That massive white peony was placed in a dark ceramic vase; when I lightly pressed my face close to the petals, the vividness of that life force formed an intense contrast with the paleness of the makeup. And every time I picked up that silver tray, looking at the neatly arranged black roses and red marks on it, it always gave off an illusion of executing some mysterious ritual.

During the shooting process, I experimented with several different narrative methods. There is a gaze whispering in front of the mirror, looking at myself in the reflection—I love this shot very much, as if one can simultaneously see two different states of her. There is also a movement of intentionally reaching out a hand toward the camera, the deep red nail polish on the fingertips carrying a hint of a dangerous signal; this interactive way of breaking the fourth wall allows people looking at the photos to feel a stronger sense of immersion. The red hairstyle was explicitly partitioned, and the black-and-white bows along with a tiny bit of white highlights broke the dullness of a single solid color. With the cooperation of light and shadow, the luster presented by the hair at different angles is even more vivid than real hair color.

I thoroughly enjoyed this time of being completely immersed in the character's aura, with no need to think about those complex everyday realities, simply interpreting this soul guided by destiny amidst the colors of red and black, white and blue. Every single photo frozen is not just an image, but moreover a slice of personality I conveyed at that exact moment during this Cosplay photoshoot.
