From selecting this Trigger cosplay costume to the final images, it took roughly nearly two months back and forth. To recreate the character setting to the maximum extent, many details of the clothing and props were handcrafted bit by bit by myself. The multi-modular yellow tactical armor on the chest, the glowing slot on the edge of the visor, and this big guy in my hands—every bit of weathering and paint texture strives to get close to that hardcore industrial wasteland style in the game. Especially this prop weapon; it's not just a photo ornament, the sense of weight in hand is very real, which directly brings out the character's oppressive aura when posing for actions.
We specially chose an abandoned industrial park as the venue for this photo set. The environment of reinforced concrete and barbed wire mesh fits perfectly with the character's own background. When communicating with the photographer, we discarded that sweet style of soft light and diffuse reflection, insisting instead on hard light and side-backlight, combined with the artificially created smoke atmosphere on set. Especially that low-angle shot looking up; for this perspective, I found my center of gravity in an almost unstable state, but seeing the final photo that elongated my figure, highlighted my leg lines, and brought out an overall cool, aloof aura, I instantly felt that all the previous sore poses were completely worth it.
Although the tactical body suit of the costume is quite close-fitting, combined with the rigid armor and the ponytail wig, movement was indeed somewhat restricted. When moving, I had to pay special attention not to snap the gear open at the joints, but this exactly required me to be restrained when posing. After all, the character of Trigger itself is not the flashy or ostentatious type; being quiet, cold, and precise is the core temperament. Therefore, I restrained extra movements as much as possible in front of the lens, relying on my gaze and gun-holding posture to convey the character's emotions.
The content of this cosplay photoshoot is not only a restoration of the character's image, but also a refinement of our team's Anime-style photography creation. How to balance functional gear with visual beauty during shooting, and how to guide the gaze to focus on the goggles and hand details through depth-of-field blur—these are all aspects of dedication that can be seen in the final photos. In addition, the red hair accessory on top of the head and the golden long hair showed rich layers of texture under different light refractions, without letting highlights wash away the details. The entire shooting and post-processing execution was highly focused, and one can see that every inch from the weapon to the clothing in the final images is telling a story about this character.
