[Amiya cosplay] Under the Architectural Domes of the Louvre: An Arknights Photoshoot Showcase

This grand set of photos captured within the Louvre has finally been organized. It is genuinely rare to shoot wide-scale character scenes in architecture with such monumental symmetrical spaces and unique dome structures, so completing this Amiya cosplay photoshoot from Arknights here felt deeply fulfilling. The photographer controlled light and shadow with pinpoint accuracy, using the visual tension of a wide-angle lens to showcase the intricate carvings and massive arches of the building to the fullest. In particular, the circular domed rotunda—with its grid-structured ceiling and warm yellow sconces—instantly brought out the spatial depth and mystery of the venue.

For the wardrobe, I chose a predominantly black dress paired with a classic Black tights outfit and high heels. Although Amiya doesn't feature this exact outfit in canonical lore, when designing the photoshoot theme, we specifically chose an elegant, modern black dress. Black attire stands out remarkably against the warm golden hues and translucent lighting of the Louvre. Black absorbs light, creating a crisp contrast against the warm ambient highlights and instantly drawing the subject out from the ornate background. To elevate overall texture, I specifically chose patent leather heels before the shoot; combined with the natural reflections on the polished parquet marble floor, the sharp silhouette of the reflections blended seamlessly with the floor tile lines, anchoring the visual center of the entire composition.

Under a wide-angle lens, preventing the monumental architecture from overpowering the subject requires technical skill. In posing design, I strived for expansive, graceful gestures—such as the moment waving a conductor's baton, or turning back while cradling a stringed instrument prop. These open, dynamic movements maintained the character's lively grace against the massive architectural scale. In the domed rotunda shot especially, to find the optimal ratio between the vast scene and the figure, we paced several laps around the vacant hall before settling on the dead center. Standing in the middle of the smooth parquet floor while using a wide angle to fully encompass the soaring dome and surrounding classical arched windows created a truly breathtaking visual sensation of being embraced by grand structures.

For makeup details, I paid special attention to performance under low indoor lighting. The base makeup leaned matte to prevent oily glare under direct overhead lighting. Paired with a reddish-brown wig, the warm ambient light sculpted a gorgeous rim light along the hair edges. Performing poses in such a venue was undeniably challenging—the floor was so polished it mirrored my entire silhouette, making walking in high heels prone to slipping with any misstep. Every step had to land precisely along the mosaic tile lines. Yet precisely because of this highly reflective floor, we leveraged it to capture silhouette effects, where the elongated shadow in Photo 1 introduced intense dramatic tension.

What captivates me most about large-scale on-location shoots is the dialogue between person and space. Throughout the afternoon, shutter clicks intertwined with echoes bouncing across the cavernous hall. Running back and forth across thousands of square meters in a black dress while sustaining posed standing stances and focused gazes was physically exhausting—by wrap-up time, my feet were completely sore. Yet seeing those composed moments in camera and curating this final set bathed in warm golden light made every bit of effort worthwhile. This photo set was not merely an outdoor shoot, but an in-depth exploration of character and environmental aesthetics through Louvre photography.
