[Theresa Cosplay] Arknights Memories of the Past: Reunited with Light and Shadow

Shooting this Theresa Cosplay set for Arknights took place in the afternoon when the sunlight was at its fullest. I had always longed for that clear, translucent, and cool ambiance under outdoor backlighting; paired with the character lore of 'a long, long time ago,' I chose an urban park with stone steps and greenery to recreate that tranquil mood. For hair and makeup, the long pink wig with a silver-white gradient was custom-styled, and the crimson horns on top received detailed gradient painting. Light-colored contact lenses gave the gaze deeper storytelling depth. For the outfit, I chose the iconic semi-sheer white dress paired with a loose black cardigan and gray block heels. During the shoot, the white tulle revealed delicate textures under the breeze and bright sun, creating fantastic overall depth.

In terms of pose design, for the first half-body shot, I opted for a three-quarter turn looking back slightly, resting my fingers naturally in front to highlight facial makeup details and wig layering. The second full-body shot utilized a gently tilted posture with the skirt's elegant drape, delineating graceful body contours while showcasing balanced overall proportions. Because the sunny light was very strong, angles had to be constantly adjusted to avoid harsh facial shadows, deliberately seeking dappled light between tree leaves to make the frame look natural and vibrant.

It has actually been a while since shooting this photo set—just as written in the caption, 'the past is ultimately the past'—yet organizing these photos brings back vivid memories of that shoot. Toward the character of Theresa, I always hold complex emotions: her resolute forward-looking strength while anchored in the past was magnified under the sunlight, making my immersion even deeper. The wind was quite strong on the day of the shoot; the long hair and black cardigan were often blown about, but fortunately, the crew assisted with continuous adjustments to capture candid frames, catching that dynamic, wind-blown grace. Post-processing color grading preserved the fresh translucency of the raw photos without heavy retouching, only slightly muting the background greenery's saturation to make the high-contrast black-and-white outfit stand out cleanly. The initial intent of this shoot was to recreate her quiet, steadfast, yet subtly melancholic demeanor through my own interpretation. The moment I stepped in front of the lens, it felt as though I truly traversed time into that story—a deeply satisfying outdoor Anime-style photography attempt capturing that fleeting essence in this Cosplay sharing record.
