This Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) photoset has finally made its debut! In lore and design, this ensemble is anchored in pure dark aesthetics; to faithfully resurrect that gallant, perilous aura from the original concept art, we poured meticulous effort into myriad details. The black metal armor carries authentic physical weight—restricting mobility once worn—yet that very encumbrance made it easier for me to tap into the tense, battle-ready mindset demanded by the character before the lens. I made subtle adjustments to the headpiece and visor positioning to ensure that when revealing a single golden eye, my gaze remained sufficiently razor-sharp. Both the sword and battle banner in my hands were custom-fabricated props; the hilt's crimson glow features adjustable luminance, which, paired with practical drifting snow and ember effects on set, pushed atmospheric immersion to its peak.

The red-to-black gradient along the cape and the distressed, battle-worn fraying along its borders demanded substantial crafting hours. Although the pink skirt hemline below forms a stark chromatic contrast against the dense black armor above, it is precisely this design interplay that breathes three-dimensional depth into the character. As for the colossal black dragon looming in the background, it represented the heaviest composite workload. Photographer Youko deliberately selected brooding mountain ranges as base plates during on-location scouting, while retoucher Hui Xin flawlessly integrated the dragon's scaled textures, razor-sharp fangs, and overwhelming sense of dread into the frame with surgical precision. To ensure seamless lighting unity between model and colossus, we iteratively dialed in color temperatures and rim light roll-offs over countless passes.

Many friends have asked whether pulling off this cosplay was difficult; truth be told, between the encumbering plate armor, cumbersome props, and grand-scale VFX compositing, the entire production timeline was quite protracted. As an ardent admirer of Raiko-sensei's original illustrations, giving tangible cosplay form to that dynamic paper tension felt profoundly meaningful despite the grueling journey. I personally cherish this over-the-shoulder composition confronting the behemoth—it captures both pre-battle suspense and the character's unyielding pride. I hope this weighty, grounded design delivers an unforgettable visual impact to everyone.
