This set of Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) convention photos was captured inside a massive industrial-style expo hall. Getting straight to the point: the core objective of this shoot was to convey the character's icy glamour and imposing aura, which required considerable effort during pre-production.
Starting with the wardrobe, the black leather tube top and shorts carried an inherently strong reflective sheen. To take this tactile visual up a notch—especially for any Leather enthusiast—I applied body oil across my shoulders, collarbones, and arms. Under the cool-toned overhead light sources of the venue, my skin exhibited a dewy, sculpted luster that contrasted gorgeously against the matte accents of the leather. The black choker around my neck, paired with a dark red bow and cascading metallic chains, enriched the silhouette's textural depth. For the headpiece, the stylized bunny ears were the soul of the look; I deliberately angled them slightly backward and combed the wig cleanly to give the outer edges a sharper, razor-like contour. The black feather plumes flanking the hips also worked wonders, creating seamless visual continuity along the lower body.
The prop was a massive black greatsword. It was exceptionally heavy, and holding the blade vertically with one hand was an intense test of forearm strength. The crimson rose ornament at the hilt and the red gem at the pommel provided essential pops of color amidst the dark palette. To enhance the composition, I kept my arm muscles flexed while posing; that slight exertion lent dynamic, authentic tension to every movement.
In terms of posing choreography, I chose to sit on the floor with my legs crossed and extended outward. This pose maximized the elongation of my leg lines, beautifully accentuating the texture of the sheer Black stockings. To prevent wardrobe slips while flattering the body's curves, my torso leaned slightly forward while my arms braced against the concrete behind me. The exhibition floor was freezing cold, requiring constant shifts in balance while keeping my core engaged so the folds in the leather looked organic rather than bulky.
For makeup, I wore yellowish-green contact lenses paired with deep, sculpted eye makeup. Throughout the shoot, I maintained an impassive, stoic expression with an unblinking gaze locked onto the lens. The photographer was remarkably sharp with camera angles, utilizing circular overhead ceiling lights as ambient backlighting to create gorgeous bokeh halos. Combined with the high-contrast cool atmosphere, it produced a dense, cinematic texture.
Overall, I'm thrilled with the completion of these Convention photos. The application of body oil, the specular highlights on the leather, and the synergy with the industrial environment all matched expectations. As a set of convention photos, it pushed atmospheric immersion to its peak.
