[Fami cosplay] Coldness Beneath Purple Eyes: Chainsaw Man Photoshoot Share

The focus of this shoot was to capture the character's gaze and chilly temperament. A solid black background paired with strong single-sided lighting was chosen; the light fell on the left half of the face creating shadows to maximize the texture of the purple eyes. To match Fami's somewhat vacant stare, the light transmittance of the purple contact lenses was key to ensure they wouldn't appear jarring in low light. The eye makeup used smudged reddish dark eyeshadow, complemented by moles placed on both cheeks and at the corner of the mouth to make the facial features distinctly recognizable. The wig features blunt bangs of Silver hair, with the back smoothed down because backlighting creates a beautiful rim-light halo along the hair strands. The black military cap has a zipper design, worn pressed relatively low. The shirt collar is crisp, and the deep red tie features a reflective sheen, brightening the lower face under studio lighting. Throughout the shoot, I communicated repeatedly with the photographer, emphasizing a slight downward tilt of the head to give the expression a more solemn feel. Post-processing smoothed out skin imperfections while retaining the clarity of the facial moles, enhancing the overall vibe of the Dark-style uniform. Regarding my thoughts on this shoot, there were many makeup details requiring fine-tuning—especially the moles on the side of the face, which had to be drawn with great delicacy to look authentic. The aegyo sal under the eyes couldn't be too heavy, otherwise it would look too childish. In line with the costume's color blocking, overall saturation was reduced during color grading, essentially preserving only black, white, red, and purple highlights to stay true to the character design. The entire shoot took place in a studio, testing several lighting angles before deciding that side-backlighting best expressed the character's unyielding aura. After wrapping up, we reviewed the lash placement and tie smoothness, aiming to deliver a flawless, cold, and striking close-up.
