Today, let's talk about this Pearl cosplay. From receiving this costume to delivering the final photos, considerable effort went into every stage. Taking advantage of the opportunity at Star Rail LAND 2026 and the 2026 Star Rail Carnival, I'd love to share some insights from the crafting and shooting process. The design of this outfit is exceptionally rich in layering, especially the voluminous, billowing sleeves: the outer layer consists of multi-tiered white chiffon pleats, while the lining is crafted from bright blue fabric speckled with delicate silver shimmer. To achieve that fluttering, ethereal motion amidst the convention floor, I added metallic rings and pink satin ribbons at the cuffs and waist to provide weight and visual flourish. The holographic laser flower at the waist serves as the focal centerpiece of the entire look; I sought out matching holographic discs to recreate it, which cast iridescent prismatic reflections under the lights—a detail that performed remarkably well under the convention hall's natural ambient light.

For hair and makeup, to harmonize with the overall blue, white, and pink palette, I applied a bolder pink eyeshadow paired with purple-pink contact lenses. The inverted V-shaped rhinestone embellishment on the forehead and the golden filigree headdress at the crown were crucial for anchoring the hairstyle; to prevent them from shifting across the crowded venue, I reinforced them internally with numerous black bobby pins. The fin-shaped accessories beside the ears were also adjusted to follow the natural curve of the wig.

Speaking of the on-site experience at Star Rail LAND 2026, convention lighting is notoriously challenging for cosplayers. The overhead spotlights in exhibition halls are intensely bright, which can easily cast harsh, unflattering facial shadows. For this shoot, we relied heavily on soft, natural diffused light along the edges of the venue, utilizing grey architectural pillars and blue glass windows as backdrops. This background not only made the subject stand out cleanly, but the blue glass also echoed the blue lining of the costume chromatically. Getting in and out of the full ensemble was quite time-consuming, particularly aligning the multiple tiers of sleeves, which required precise anchor points to keep them from sliding down during poses. Because the sleeves are so wide and voluminous, navigating crowded aisles required constant vigilance to prevent other attendees from stepping on them—a handy tip for anyone planning to cosplay her.

While preserving the anime aesthetic, the makeup was kept fresh and natural before the lens. Soft pink lower eyeshadow was key to channeling that 2D anime charm, though care had to be taken to blend the edges smoothly. For base makeup, since the venue became quite humid and warm, I used an oil-controlling primer and kept setting powder on hand for touch-ups to ensure the complexion stayed clean and translucent. The wig tips were subtly dip-dyed in light green and baby blue to honor the character's canon color transitions, providing rich visual gradient under bright lights.

Convention photography moves at a rapid pace—preparation can take hours, yet you often get only a few minutes before the camera. Being able to channel one's love for the game and character through costume and makeup brings a profound sense of accomplishment. This session at Star Rail LAND 2026 met my vision completely, both in costume fidelity and on-site lighting coordination. Going forward, if given the opportunity, I will continue refining more subtle details, such as engineering a lighter internal support structure for the sleeves.
