For this Robin • Summeretto summer-themed photoshoot, the overall visual concept was established with a crisp, refreshing, and lively tone right from early preparation. For the hair, I selected a short wavy wig with a blue-purple gradient. To embody the character's traits, a golden halo was styled atop the head, paired with feather hair accessories on both sides and accented with pearls and stars woven through the locks. The eye makeup incorporated fine glitter and blue-green cosmetic contact lenses, aiming for a refreshing and dreamy touch. The costume utilized a blue-and-white Swimsuit cosplay design adorned with star patterns and pearl tassels, layered over a light gradient skirt hem with a small yellow blossom pinned at the waist. Embracing the summer theme, I chose to shoot barefoot, bringing along a blue-and-white microphone prop as well as various star and feather accents.
The shooting location was an indoor custom-built summer dessert shop; light blue floor tiles combined with spots cast by spotlights evoked an authentic beachside feel. A rattan lounge chair served as the primary prop, backed by a giant ice cream model, a red-and-white lifebuoy, and several potted tropical plants, alongside a red drink and a blue starfish toy. During the shoot, the photographer encouraged me to stay as relaxed as possible, leading to natural poses like leaning back, holding the drink, and raising the microphone. Although the spotlights raised the ambient temperature higher than expected, the resulting interplay of light and shadow was fantastic with high color saturation, creating an exceptionally energetic atmosphere paired with the props.
The key to this Robin • Summeretto look was conveying the easygoing relaxation of a summer beach. Whether sipping a drink or gripping the microphone, I strove to keep my posture relaxed and natural. The blue-and-white palette looked pristine under intense studio lights, and the gradient chiffon of the skirt hem maintained a lovely fluttering drape during movement. To ensure visual balance, every gesture underwent fine-tuning—after all, posing barefoot on ceramic tiles requires finding just the right center of gravity to keep leg lines elongated and graceful.
All told, this marks my second time producing Honkai: Star Rail-related work, having previously participated in Honkai: Star Rail fan creation activities. This Robin • Summeretto styling preserves the character's core features while injecting imaginative summer elements. From shaping the wig to selecting accessories, considerable care went into coordinating every piece. The final photos fully lived up to my initial creative expectations; the harmony between lighting and colors was spot-on, and the interactive props enriched the compositions. Though the shoot was physically demanding, seeing the images made all the preparations feel worthwhile.
In the overall styling, I deliberately avoided overly complex accessories to prevent visual clutter. The golden halo stood out strikingly against the blue-purple hair, which, combined with the white feathers, visually enhanced the layered depth of the headpiece. The pearl tassels offered brilliant light reflection, lending extra texture to the outfit. Testing different angles before shooting revealed that sitting on the lounge chair accompanied by the red drink and blue starfish toy resonated seamlessly with the leisurely summer vacation motif.
This shoot also deepened my connection with Robin as a character. Her innate confidence and stage charm found an alternative medium of expression through this Swimsuit cosplay look. Even though staged indoors, the lighting simulated strong sunshine, and together with the background ice cream model and greenery, easily evoked a sun-drenched coastal retreat. Posing through varied angles before the camera was a joy; each image represents an authentic fan interpretation of the Robin • Summeretto theme.
Throughout the entire session, we constantly adjusted light positions and camera angles to capture the most candid moments. Because watermarks were added in post-production, on-set efforts centered firmly on framing composition and physical presence. The final four selections utilized different poses to display this styling—from singing passionately into the microphone to resting casually with a drink—aiming to showcase the diverse facets of Robin • Summeretto in summer.
