[Elysia Cosplay] Mirror Selfie in Honkai Impact 3rd Swimsuit Styling

A lot of preparation went into slipping into this Elysia swimsuit outfit. Since she is my ultimate favorite character, I meticulously checked every detail from the wig to the accessories. The wig is a custom Pink hair cosplay piece with long flowing locks; to recreate that voluminous fluffiness, I spent quite some time before heading out attaching hair extensions, refining the hairline, and setting the top curve with hairspray so it wouldn't flatten no matter how I moved in front of the mirror. For makeup, I referenced her canon sweet and vibrant palette, but in a real-world setting—to withstand camera reflections—I deepened the colors on the eye makeup and blush to make them stand out more. Mirror selfies are actually much more challenging than standard studio shoots, as you have to monitor your expression in the mirror while simultaneously controlling the phone's position. To convey the character's coquettish and confident aura, I specifically chose this swimsuit design featuring black bows and ruffled trim; the cutout on the chest and the pleated skirt nicely accentuated the silhouette. The thigh ring fit just right to flatter the leg line, which, paired with nude heeled sandals, further elongated my overall proportions. During shooting, I spent a lot of time finding the optimal lighting and angles, keeping the background as clean as possible to spotlight the outfit. It was already evening, and the indoor white lighting illuminated my skin tone just right, making the pink hair look exceptionally translucent. Seeing this final photo made all the effort in fine-tuning my posture feel worthwhile. For this Honkai Impact 3rd Anime cosplay, I believe it takes more than faithful costumes—you must capture the character's distinct personality through body language. Because Elysia is naturally a vibrant and energetic girl, I kept my demeanor feeling light and effortless throughout the shoot. In post-processing, only slight adjustments were made to exposure and contrast, preserving the garment's authentic texture and color without exaggerated edits. Bringing a character's charm vividly to life means finding where the 2D world connects with reality, which has always been the true joy of doing cosplay.
